"Nakazat" is a character-driven episode revealing the complexities of the protagonists.
The pre-titles sequence is pure gold with Frank using the darkroom of a sleazy photographer and delivering a mild amount of punishment as a little "thank you" for his services. Amy acts as a moral conscience for Frank. Sensing Frank's disappointment that he was persuaded to leave the sleaze bag alive, Amy suggests he could always burn the business to the ground.
There's a sense of genuine danger for the principal characters. Bobby senses a visit from his old friend Billy is only a matter of time whilst Pilgrim locates Madani.
On top of all this, the chemistry between Billy Russo and Krista finally bubbles over.
The episode manages to avoid the usual "show me how this works" cliques during Frank's gun demonstration with Amy. It's a well handled scene.
10 out of 10.
