The Cloverfield Paradox (2018)
Seeing this listed in someone's credits made me cringe just now.
I saw this movie in 2018 when it came out on Netflix. It was originally not a Cloverfield project. I believe that was slapped on to it, at the last minute, in desperation to produce something with the Cloverfield name attached. The plot was full of holes, and I remember being very annoyed first with some of the characters, then after I realized what I was watching, I became infuriated with the director and the writing. The only major connection this has to Cloverfield is in the last few minutes you are treated to grainy footage of the Cloverfield monster, but the scale it was render to makes it so ridiculously large that it couldn't survive on earth, it couldn't take in enough nutrients to survive and would have nothing to compete against. It was awful. The gut physical reaction I had to seeing the title made me want to post this. I do not recommend it. If you enjoyed the other Cloverfield films this will actively a) make you upset that the Cloverfield name is attached to it and b) it may actually devalue the other films in the series. It's frustrating that no proper sequels have been made since 10 Cloverfield Lane.
