Star Wars "Andor'' is the prequel to "Rogue One a Star Wars story" that follows Cassian Andor's life during the spark of rebellion.
"Andor '' Is very well made production wise. Lucasfilm chose real life sets for this show, unlike "The Mandalorian" or "Obi wan" which both used the new dome screen technology. It's great to finally have a Star Wars show that is up in runtime too. Each episode is about 50 minutes and makes it feel like a real show.
But with these improvements from other shows, it sadly has a huge problem with its pacing. The story is very boring to say the least and has too many characters. It's always good to have new characters to further the plot, but many of them are unlikable and don't seem to have a reason in the show, other than to lengthen the run time. With a 50 minute runtime for each of the 12 episodes, the show can really drag at times. There are countless scenes where characters chat for long periods of time and it doesn't even help to further the plot.
Sadly, in the end the show is very forgettable to me. There are some great moments, but with so many slow scenes and unlikable characters it's just no fun. And maybe that's the reason for all this bad Star Wars content right now. Star Wars used to be fun. Likable characters with a fun plot of good versus evil. Simple even. Lucasfilm is complicating Star Wars and changing it from the childhood innocence that George Lucus intended. Maybe the days of good Star Wars content are gone for good. Somewhere in a galaxy far far away.
