Citizen Kane (1941)
10/10
A Masterpiece.
30 January 2024
No matter what year you watch this movie, it still leaves a lot to talk about. Ahead of its time in all its aspects. Revolutionizing cinema with its non-linear way of telling a story, introducing something never seen before. Excellent script, with a story that captivates the observer, magnificent actors who make you feel identified with some of them. Fantastic lighting, despite being a black and white film, it looks fantastic. The shots are amazing. Orson Welles has left a mark in the history of cinema with this film and it will be extremely difficult to surpass a mark like that. Obviously I am rating it from a point of view in which cinema has evolved too much compared to the day this film was released. But that being the case, and having passed so many years, the way in which the film is made could easily resemble a current one. Simply a historical masterpiece of cinema.
