- Raja, a fisherman is secretly in love with Mona. When wealthy Ravi comes to live with his grandmother, Kamladevi, he sees Mona and falls in love with her. Mona also reciprocates his love. Raja is devastated by this turn of events. But when Kamladevi gets to know that Ravi is seeing Mona, she puts pressure on Mona to give up Ravi and marry someone else.
- A dying Thakur Surjeet Singh bequeaths the entire estate to his son, Raghuvir, disowning the other, Dhurjan, the family's black sheep, who also indulges in black magic. The latter swears to use magical powers to usurp the estate, and even arranges the abduction of Raghuvir's daughters, Sapna and Aarti. Mangal and his men manage to apprehend Dhurjan, imprison him in a dungeon, and rescue Aarti. However, they are unable to locate Sapna, and Raghuvir gets killed. Before dying, he informs Mangal that Sapna has one of two pieces of a locket around her neck, while the other is on Aarti's, and when joined together will reveal the location of a treasure buried in a dungeon. 20 years later, Aarti and her boyfriend, Vijay, along with several others, will attempt to unearth this treasure - not realizing that they not only face betrayal from one of their own, but will also release and fall prey to an ageless and indestructible entity.

When Anwar finds out that his new-born son, Iqbal, is in need of a pace-maker, which he is unable to afford, he makes a compromise with Don, who lets him have one. Iqbal undergoes surgery and a pace-maker number 786, considered lucky in Islamic faith, is attached to his tiny heart. But Don and a prostitute by the name of Banoo have other plans for Anwar, which they carry out successfully, and abduct young Iqbal, who ends up growing on the streets as an orphan named Allah Rakha. Several years later, Allah Rakha has grown up, and is friendly with a prostitute named Rani, who happens to be the daughter of Banoo. When News-reporter decides to do TV report on Rani's life, she does not realize that she has opened up a Pandora's box, that will bring the past back to life, and expose her life to danger, deceit, and possible death.

- Based on the circa 2nd century BCE to 2nd Century CE, Sanskrit play "Daridra-Charudatta" by the famous Indian playwright Bhasa, "Utsav" faithfully follows Bhasa's story-line. Vasantasena, a courtesan who dances at the King Palaka's court hides in Charudatta's house while running away from the amorous attentions of the king's brother-in-law. She falls in love with Charudatta, though he is married and penniless. They have an affair. Meanwhile, the rightful heir to the throne - King Palaka's brother - escapes from prison. While he is being pursued by the king's troops, Charudatta helps him. The king's brother-in-law strangles Vasantasena when she refuses to submit to him and leaves her for dead. When Charudatta tries to have her jewels pawned, he is arrested for her murder. What happens to him and the other characters constitutes the final part of the film.
- After his transfer from Delhi, Inspector Arjun Singh lives in Bombay along with his wife, Anita, school-going son, Munna; and a younger collegian brother, Ajit. Arjun is disappointed with Ajit as he spends most of his time singing, dancing and flirting with girls. Then a series of sexual molestations and killings of attractive bikini-clad young women take place, and Arjun is assigned to this case. After a short period of time, his investigations lead him to a wealthy suspect, but when the suspect's daughter is molested and killed, his department gets evidence that may implicate another suspect - none other than Ajit.

- Maya, coming from poor family, is married to the affluent Dr. Anand; but she tries to commit suicide on the nuptial night. - Ravidas (Sunny Deol) lives in a village in rural India. He is the son of Chediram (Dr. Shreeram Lagoo) who is of highly respected in the village. Ravidas falls in love with Jyoti (Poonam Dhillon). So he decides to go to the city to fulfill his dreams and to eventually marry Jyoti. In the city he recovers the purse of a young lady from a thief. The young lady turns out to be the daughter of a big newspaper publisher. The newspaper publisher hears of Ravidas's talent for poetry through his daughter. He publishes some of Ravidas's poems in a column in his newspaper. Ravidas starts becoming famous and his dream is fulfilled. He communicates to Jyoti by writing on the side of the morning express train, hence the title of the film Saveray Wali Gaadi. Jyoti reads these message each morning hoping for the time when Ravidas will return and take her away with him.

It is then Shankar finds out that Jai is Nisha's sweetheart, and decides to kill two birds with one stone, avenge his humiliation and the scar from the iron he still carries on his back, from both Nisha and her dad, and force Nisha to marry him - or else he will ensure Jai's arrest and subsequent conviction - a conviction which will lead Jai to the gallows. Sonu fell in love with Sheela.
