- Righteous constable Leng Tian-Ying has a fearsome reputation of killing criminals without remorse. But after being assigned to track a gang that robbed the imperial treasury, he comes to find that his reputation is being used against him.
- Tom Bailey is forced to hide in the hills when he is unjustly accused of robbery and murder. He is, however, granted amnesty for a day in order to participate in a rodeo and judge a baby contest. Tom awards the prize to the baby brother of Esther Lacy, whose drunken stepfather, Matt Hartigan, is the real murderer. Later in the day, Tom wins a horse race and eludes the trap set for him by the sheriff. Esther visits her brother in Carson City, Nevada, leaving Tom to care for the baby. Matt determines when Esther and her brother are expected to return, and attempts to wreck the train by running an unscheduled freight on the main line. An alert station agent switches the freight onto a siding, preventing a crash; the freight then derails and kills Matt. Esther's brother proves that his late stepfather actually committed the crimes for which Tom has been accused, clearing the way for Tom to find happiness with Esther.
- Al Parker (Al Wilson), an aviator and Secret Service agent, is assigned to investigate a gang of bandits who have been robbing a platinum mine on the Mexican-American border. The superintendent of the mine, John Ames (Emmett King), is killed when he discovers a secret passage used by the bandits, and his daughter, Edith (Virginia Brown Faire), assumes the running of the mine. Edith is kidnapped by the gang's leader, McLeod (Lee Shumway), who makes his escape in a waiting airplane. Al, "The Air Hawk," gives chase, leaping between the planes in flight and beating McLeod in a desperate struggle. Al is then happily reunited Edith, with whom he has fallen in love.
- Gertie Jones, a female raffles posing as a maid in a fancy home in order to rifle the safe, surprises Jimmy Hartigan in the act of robbing that very safe. She offers to split the take 50-50, a proposition to which he is about to agree when the police arrive. Jim takes full responsibility for the crime, protecting Gertie from arrest. Gertie helps Jim escape from jail, and they take refuge in the country, where they are married by an overeager magistrate who believes them to be an eloping couple. Jim and Gertie decide to go straight and return to the city, investing $10,000 in stolen cash with Bill Munson, who runs off with it. Jim is rearrested by a detective, and Gertie goes after Munson, recovering the money. Jim is being returned by rail to the penitentiary when Gertie boards the train, offering the money to the detective in return for Jim's freedom. The detective refuses until Jim and Gertie save his life when the train is caught in a tunnel collapse. The detective then promises to return the money, letting Jim go to begin a new life with Gertie.
