- Two gold-diggers befriend a country girl who comes near being deceived by rich playboy but is saved by a girl whose life he ruined. Lettie finds happiness with poor but honest working man.
- When Leonard Keith, son of a famous publisher, is implicated in a chorus girl's suicide, he is protected by James Morton, assistant editor of his father's newspaper, although he and Leonard are rivals for the love of Mary Lawrence. Mary, who is in love with Jim, rejects her father's wish that she marry Leonard; and on the night that Morton plans to elope with Mary, Leonard entices her to a restaurant and forces a scene in which she slightly wounds him with a pistol. The pair elope as planned, but Leonard dies from blood poisoning, and Jim is arrested for his murder and convicted. Mary, who becomes ill from wandering in a storm, learns of Jim's predicament only on the day set for his execution; as he is being led to the death chamber, Mary, with the aid of Spec, an office boy, convinces the governor of Jim's innocence, and he is freed.

- Jim Wallace, a young engineer, is engaged by Hammond, manager of an estate in the Northwest, to build flumes for a logging camp, but Donovan, the superintendent, dislikes him and places numerous obstacles in his way. Virginia Coulson, owner of the estate, and her maid Dot arrive, and when Hammond proposes to Virginia, she refuses his declaration in favor of Jim. Later, when Donovan is found murdered, suspicion points to Jim, who is convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment. Hammond gets evidence on the murderer, Goofus, a half wit, and plans to use it to force Virginia to marry him; Goofus wounds Hammond and, seeing he has not killed him, starts a forest fire. Jim, who has escaped from prison with the aid of his friend, Buddy, rescues Virginia from the burning lodge; Goofus confesses to the murder, and Jim is freed.
- Assuming he is marrying a wealthy girl; Peter Foley passes a fraudulent check and to save him from jail, Julia Barry poses as his wife. Peter is actually in love with Alice Blake, and he encounters complications with Bull, a motorcycle cop who is actually engaged to Julia. Alice and a false friend add to the mix-up; and through various chases and complications they are all snowbound together in a mountain lodge. After numerous attempts to catch or elude one another, a happy ending prevails for all.
- SYNOPSIS In the Sevier River mountain area of Utah, horse wranglers Lee and Cuth Stewart, famous for their skill, are unable after several encounters to capture the wild stallion Lightning. Later, in Chicago, where they are seeing the sights, the boys meet and flirt with Dot and Mary, two entertainers who are doing a Topsy and Eva act; by their third meeting the brothers are ready to propose, but the girls leave town unexpectedly with their money and no intentions of marriage. Back in Utah, Lightning, attracted to Lee's pet mare, Bess, invades their camp and takes her away. The boys' pursuit leads them into the desert, which the girls are crossing by airplane; after a forced landing, the boys take the girls "prisoner," putting them to work. The girls escape and almost die in a sandstorm, but Lee and Cuth rescue them and also subdue Lightning; all are happily reunited.
- Joe Strickland, a civil engineer, has fallen to the level of living off Bessie Hayes, a bootlegger. Bessie believes Joe is trying to steal their savings, and they decide to part. She opens a manicuring establishment and marries wealthy Harvey Larkin; shortly after their marriage, Harvey begins to neglect Bessie for the company of others. Joe saves society girl Marion Winslow from drowning, reforms himself, and marries Marion. Bessie is blackmailed by Frank Bowman, a former confederate, and goes to Joe for help. Marion becomes jealous and threatens divorce. Harvey casts Bessie out when she confesses her past. She straightens matters out between Joe and Marion, but realizing that she, a woman, will never be forgiven for her past sins, she commits suicide.
- Jerry McKay (Jacqueline Logan), a spoiled and willful society girl, on the eve of a flighty engagement, decides to accompany her father to inspect some property he owns, managed by a handsome young engineer, James Warren (Robert Frazer). Jerry demonstrates her prowess as a marksman, though Warren has forbidden the use of firearms; and Tom Webb (Henry Sedley), an unscrupulous rancher, accuses Warren of inciting his men against him. Warren's stern rebuking infuriates Jerry, and she bets her friends that she can get him to propose within a week. She succeeds in winning his approval and then falls in love with him, but they are temporarily parted when he learns of the wager. She returns, however, to seek his forgiveness.
- A pugilist sprains his ankle during a street brawl and is taken care of by a girl who loves him. Believing her love is returned, she makes preparations for their marriage. Deserting the girl at the altar, the fighter realizes his love for the girl when her vision appears to him, while down for the count in the ring, and this enables him to win the battle.

- Dave, Mary Heath's brother, is accidentally killed in a gambling den. Her sweetheart, John Trevor, discovers that the den is secretly owned by his mother, whom he has considered to be independently wealthy. John denounces his mother, despite the fact that the money she earned supported him in college. As Dave was the head of the Heath household, John, feeling responsible for the boy's death, offers himself as a replacement. At first treated as a slave in the household, John later wins the family's love by risking his life during a snowstorm to save the Heath twins.
- Dress model Sheila Conroy loses her job after ruining a gown she borrowed from her employer. Harlan, a criminal posing as a government agent, offers Sheila work as his assistant. She accepts for the sake of her brother-in-law, Billy, who embezzled money from his firm and is in danger of discovery. Her assignment is to obtain the necessary "evidence" on Mrs. Bordon, a wealthy widow who smuggled a valuable jewel into the country. Channing Maynard, a real government agent, reveals the truth to Sheila, and after they bring Harlan to justice, Channing takes Sheila for his bride.
- In the small farming community of Spring Valley, young Aurora Lane causes a scandal by bearing the son of townsman Lucius Henderson, who refuses to marry her or even admit that he's the father. Shunned as a "sinful" woman by most of the town, she turns over her son Don to be raised by Miss Julia, the town librarian, who tells the boy that she's his "aunt". Don grows up and goes to college, and when he comes back home the town gossips begin a rumor-mongering campaign. When the town policeman tries to drive Aurora out of town he is found murdered, and Don is arrested for the crime.
- Richard Lane isolates himself in the African interior for 5 years after his sweetheart, Natalie, marries Norman Travers. Travers, who tires of family life and neglects his wife and son, drifts into an affair with Nita Howard, a cabaret dancer. When Travers' ship is reported lost inward from Europe, Lane hears the news and determines to return and win Natalie; soon Lane develops a fondness for Natalie and her child, Bobby, and she consents to marry him. Travers, however, is rescued from a desert island and refuses to grant Natalie a divorce. Lane finds Travers murdered; and thinking that Natalie is guilty, he surrenders himself to the police. She denies his guilt, but the chief of detectives discovers that Nita Howard is the murderess. Lane is happily united with Natalie.
