- Elias dreams of a family. Christian is happy about their free existence in an open relationship, where they have time and money to travel, buy expensive designer furniture and love each other. Elias has been able to keep his longing at bay for a long time, but when he starts his new job as a psychologist at a school home, it is as if the burden is overflowing. He must face the fact that a life without a human responsibility for others than himself can never be a happy life for him.
- The film is based on a series of interviews with resistance woman Ebba Viola Hjortshøj Rasmussen, also acting as the narrator, as well as excerpts from the leader of the A/S (active saboteurs) group, her brother Aksel Sørensen's book "Active resistance people: A/S group in Randers under the occupation" . The documentary focusses on Ebba's role in the resistance group in Randers and her life working as a courier. This is illustrated with reconstructions of Ebba's accounts of selected incidents during the occupation. The documentary sheds light on the two siblings' close relationship and common struggle, focussing in particular on what it was like to make such a decisive choice at that time in their lives.
