- StarsTim Pigott-SmithKing HusseinShimon PeresDecision-makers from Israel, the Arab states, Russia and the US tell the inside story of the Arab-Israel conflict. Charts the evolution of tensions, violence and peace efforts from 1948 to 1998.The best documentary about the middle east conflict I have ever seen. Also about 6 hours in total - but worth it.
- StarsSaeb ErekatAriel SharonYasser ArafatWorld leaders comment on the unraveling peace process and continued violence between Israelis and Palestinians from 1999 to 2005.
- StarsAbba EbanAuthored by Abba Eban which is also featured prominently in the above documentaries. Very straightforward and unbiased storytelling about the birth of Israel.
- StarsRoss KempDmitry RumyantsevSergey MalutaA look at the street gangs of El Salvador. The Documentary Film follows Ross as he meets gang members, accompanies the police on raids and experiences the everyday tragedies of gang-life.IMDb can't find the Ross Kemp in the Middle East, so this is sort of misleading. But it's out there.
Ross makes two shows, one in Gaza and another in Israel, to display the duality and attempt to be unbiased. - DirectorHerb KrosneyStarsMartin GilbertDavid Ben-GurionSir Martin Gilbert, author of over sixty books and the host of A&E's JERUSALEM, hosts this gripping account of Israel's difficult first years. Filled with rare footage, photographs, and interviews with participants in the War of Independence, this is the definitive document of one of the turning points in modern history. Extraordinary footage filmed by Bernard Beecham, a British soldier, shows the reality of life in the fledgling nation, when all efforts were devoted toward winning the war.
- DirectorYoav ShamirStarsYoav ShamirAbraham FoxmanBob WolfsonIntent on shaking up the ultimate 'sacred cow' for Jews, Israeli director Yoav Shamir embarks on a provocative - and at times irreverent - quest to answer the question, "What is anti-Semitism today?"This has great controversy and has more focus on problems inside Israel but still has roots in the ongoing Middle East conflict. Much debate on the bias of this piece. Notably, the author himself really does not criticize anybody at all, the people he interview does however. Very interesting none the less, and I would recommend that everybody watched it.
- StarsMorland SandersAntony BarnettDeborah DaviesChannel 4's long-running, award-winning investigative current affairs documentary series. Particularly noted for its undercover reporting.Dispatches in one show investigates the alleged Israeli lobby in Britain. Pretty biased obviously, but still interesting to watch in order to form your own opinion.
- StarsTomer OffnerMichael GreenspanExperience what some have called the modern miracles of Israel through the eyes of a seasoned journalist, Michael Greenspan, and explore the question: why has Israel survived against all the odds? This 13 part dramatic television series, appropriately tilted, "Against All Odds: In Search of a Miracle", takes a fascinating journey into the documented stories of supernatural phenomenon, which birthed and preserved modern Israel. Eyewitness accounts and commentary by high ranking government officials, generals, soldiers, foreign leaders and rich dramatic recreations compel the audience to ask, are these events miracles? You decide...This is mostly a collection of anecdotes an exciting stories told by people in Israel. Is by no means a historical interesting documentary, but could be watched if you are bored and want some good stories from the various great events in the history of Israel.
I actually only voted it 2. I think it's pretty bad. - DirectorAbdallah OmeishSufyan OmeishStarsJames AkinsArik AschermanBishop Barltlett Jr.A thought-provoking and powerful documentary film on the current and historical root causes of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and U.S. political involvement.Probably the most biased documentary I have seen, which does not leave any room for the other side of the story. But it is still interesting to watch extreme opinions if you want to see the big picture. Just remember that this should not be watched solely without any stimuli from other sides, if you plan to have a serious opinion about the ongoing Arab-Israeli conflict.
- DirectorMichael KirkStarsSarah ChildressJim GilmoreWill LymanThe inside story of the bitter clash between President Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. Amid violence in the Middle East, the film traces Netanyahu's rise to power and his high-stakes fight with the president over Iran's nuclear program.
