01: Lucha Libre! Push past the anti-Trump speculation. Wrestler's featured worked the US circuit despite the doc makers fears. Follows Fenix desire to relocate his family to the US and tracks 2 rising stars who started out wrestling at the traffic lights. Resulting in the best wrestling sequences of the episode. Rey Mysterio, Konan and Pentagon also cameo.
-2019 SBS - StarsErica Reid HarrisonDuff GoldmanGeoffry ManthorneChef and owner of Charm City Cakes in Baltimore, Maryland, Duff Goldman, and his crew of decorators attempt to create amazing and awe-inspiring cakes for their clients each week. The usual level of over the top emotional responses expected in modern reality TV are (unfortunately) vividly captured here. However the energy and skill of this team of bakers and cake decorators holds interest well enough.

- StarsAdam ConoverAdam LustickEmily AxfordIconoclastic Adam Conover from CollegeHumor turns life as we know it on its ear by showing us how unnecessary, and sometimes horrible, things we think we know to be real and true really are.An educational hipster show, highly cynical of things assumed to be facts. Funny and interesting even if some of the viewpoints are a bit simple. Though some episodes are so PC they become fallacious.

OVER IT
13) Reality TV & Awards Shows - weak episode. Notes that awards ceremonies are heavily influenced by spending on wooing the judging members. That the red carpet is a marketing juggernaut for selling product and that reality TV is mostly scripted. Claims this is ok as long as the people tuning in know what is and isn't legit - but doesn't tackle that the majority don't. Quotes Slate to argue that the rating system for movies is arbitrary and more concerned with sex (especially non-heterosexual sex) than violence. It's a very one sided discussion, getting caught up in seeking out homophobia and racism, rather than considering the value of a consistent (even if biased) rating system is useful for viewers in determining whether they or their children wish to see a film.
12) Death - a more philosophical episode. Besides the facts of funerals are expensive, embalming processes are no better than refrigeration for one and done viewings and coffins are unnecessary the focus is more esoteric. About preparing for death, letting loved one's know what to do and accepting that death will come to all of us. Adam pushes the atheist conception that death is the end but the show itself has Emily walking around as a ghost and concludes with him being afraid of death.
11) Nutrition - covers the Linus Vit C myth, the processing in milk and orange juice and the construction of fad diets. Adam also demonstrates that 'science' journals will take cash for publication of very poor research, including chocolate results in weight loss and even the show script! So just listen to your doctor, your body and exercise at least a bit.
10) Sex - Circumcision (supposedly a means by Kellogg to reduce masturbation rates - although they do acknowledge it's religious connection), Hymen (not always broken during sex, not indicative (all the time) of virginity and definitely not covering the vagina) and Herpes (common, minor side effects). However they seriously downplay the evidence counter their point (minor health benefits for circumcision, hymen remaining intact at least 50% of the time for virgins and sexual freedom's contribution to mental issues and the like) and seem to consider chicken pox the same as genital herpes - which is dishonest. Like episode 9 it suffers from clear ideological leanings.
9) Summer - probably the weakest of the series, because of the incredibly broad strokes. Begins by blaming long school breaks, tv and violent neighborhoods for reduced education of low-income earners. Then pushes a series of feminist agenda arguments regarding sexism in toys, video games and clothing. Going on to praise Animal Crossing (a time and money consuming beast). The section on Copy Right and the changes to releasing creative commons resulting in loss of current and generated intellectual property is interesting.
8) Work - claims the 5 day 40 hr work week was promoted by Henry Ford for the purposes of making sure his employees had sufficient money and free time to spend it to buy his products. And that during that period the powers that be expected the average worker to be working only 4 days by out time period. Also completely misrepresents the so-called earnings gap between gender and minorities (ignoring the fact that different job ought to see different wages) but argues for the sharing of salary details among workers (to improve knowledge and bargaining power) and the current conditions of most internships and freelance jobs in the US being illegal.
7) Voting - interesting attempt at explaining simply the very complicated American process.
6) Hygiene - Lysterine (halitosis scare campaign, floor cleaning product), Showers (once a week, soap sparingly), Flushable Wipes (fatbergs, unnecessary), Running Clean Water (many don't have)
5) Restaurants - Tipping (encourages poor pay and bribery), Fish (false labeling, over fishing, dying farmed salmon pink)
4) Forensics - Polygraph (unreliable, beaten many times, wrongly determined many times), Fingerprints (no evidence unique, human error and bias), Witness Testimony (fallible/ changing memories, leading questions), Bite Marks/ Hair Analysis (unreliable, confused with animals), DNA (mostly good, developed science)
3) Cars - Roads (bigger roads, lead to more cars), Dealers (anti-competitive legislation, lack of choice, dependency of government), Public Transportation and Walking Spaces
2) Security - Security Theater (airports, credit card signings, tamper proof seals - the drugs are more dangerous), Credit Card Fraud (banks tend to just reimburse anyway)
1) Giving - Engagement Rings (diamonds aren't rare, they're overpriced and the mandatory giving of rings is a clever marketing campaign), Needy (bad idea - canned food, second hand clothing, buy one give one free models, good idea - cash, no expiry, most versatile, no shipping or sorting cost), Blood (expiry date means need a consistent blood flow not a response to one off events).

01: A reporter looking to move up from Agony Aunt 'helps' the new detective (Laurence) in town solve a series of murders at an experimental criminal psychiatric facility. The earnest reporter contrasts well with the rough-housing rogue detective.- 2018 SBS
- CreatorChristopher MarkusStephen McFeelyStarsHayley AtwellJames D'ArcyEnver GjokajIn 1946, Peggy Carter is relegated to secretarial duties in the Strategic Scientific Reserve (SSR). When Howard Stark is accused of treason, he secretly recruits Peggy to clear his name with the help of his butler, Edwin Jarvis.----Season 2
10) Team Carter beats Whitney to the punch, successfully draining her of the ZM and closing the rift. Leaving Whitney quite the nut case to the disappointment of her Mafia lover Manfredi. Wilkes takes a job with Stark and Carter finds reason to stay in LA longer (a solid butler in Jarvis and an old love in Souza). Jack is killed in the closer and the blackmail file on Carter is stolen.
9) Whitney takes Wilkes who has become a time-bomb of ZM to an off-grid waste disposal factory. Carter's attempted rescue operation goes awry due to Jack trying to kill Vernon and Whitney. The gamma bomb is stopped but Wilkes' ruptures ZM on Whitney.
8) Anya awakens but the knowledge that she will be sterile makes Jarvis reckless, though his revenge is ineffective. Wilkes chooses to side with Whitney to recreate the rift using the uranium rods (recovery of which sees Jack join Carter). A machine designed by Stark closes the rift and Whitney captures Jarvis and Carter to convince Wilkes to help her out.
7) Whitney's council remove Souza of his post, capture temporarily corporeal Wilkes and shoot Anya. All aimed at uncovering the missing uranium rods to recreate the ZM experiment.
6) Running out of options, Carter and crew breakout Dottie to obtain a sample of ZM from Whitney, in order to stop Wilkes' fluctuations. The primary objective is completed but Dotty goes rogue. Sending Jack after Carter and putting Dottie in the hands of Whitney, whose recently re-ordered the board and removed her husband.
5) Unsure of who to trust, Carter assembles an odd squad of 'lesser' members of the SSR. Souza, Jarvis and Carter are joined by telephone lady Rose (quite the fighter) and an unlikable scientist itching for field work, Samberley. The unorthodox approach pays off when they successfully stop Whitney from gaining access to nuclear material. Carter is injured and Wilkes once again becomes invisible.
4) Whitney reveals herself to be a brilliant scientist, con-woman and vicious killer. Using her new found ability to subsume the hit-man Carter and co manage to flip. Their attempt to raid the arena club is derailed by shady government bureaucracy.
3) Whitney's ZM scar grows after she subsumes a man by touching him. The hitman she sends for Carter fails. She tips jack off the Arena Club is rigging the election for Calvin. Carter, Jarvis, Souza and Stark receive unexpected help in solving the ZM puzzle from Wilkes now stuck in another dimension.
2) Iodine Industries is being scrubbed by a shadowy cabal with pins like Dottie tried to steal. Carter convinces Wilkes to steal the Zero Matter from the facility. But when Whitney intervenes, the explosion that follows causes Wilkes disappear. Whitney now has a ZM scar, Carter is grieving the loss of Wilkes and Souza is unable to propose to Anya.
1) The SSSR capture Dottie during a heist. Before Carter can turn her, Chief Jack sends her to LA to help Souza with a radioactive frozen body in a lake. The FBI takes Dottie away from Jack before he can get anywhere. Carter, Souza (now with nurse Violet) and Jarvis (who is frightfully bored with Stark off making pictures) join local police on an investigation spanning murderous senator's wives (Calvin Chadwick & Whitney Frost), contagious frozen bodies and a charming but tricky physicist (Wilkes). Jarvis' wife (Anya) turns out to be mischievous and lively.
----Season 1
8) The Battle of Finau, where all the Russian soldiers died was caused by the psycho-gas against Stark's will creating his distrust of government. Stark returns to set things right but is caught by the Doctor and Dottie who set him up to repeat the tragedy. Until the combined work of Carter, Souza and Jarvis prevent it. Dottie escapes and the Doctor lands in prison with a senior leader of Hydra. Carter and Angie move into one of Stark's many residences. Souza love for Carter goes unrequited but she finally lets go of Steve Rogers, including destroying his blood.
7) Jarvis makes an ill advised attempt to get Carter out of custody by faking a signed confession from Stark. When Carter notices the Russian psych passing messages to Dotty she struggles to win back the trust of the SSR, even coming clean. Both Dottie and doctor escape with a gas that turns regular people into psychotic killers and leave the SSR with a Chief in bomb vest. He explodes convincing everyone that Carter is telling the truth.
6) Carter's time at the Griffith comes to an end when SSR agents storm the building to capture her. An acting performance by Angie would have let her escape but Dottie (receiving orders from the supposedly defected Russian psychiatrist) plants a kiss of sweet dreams on her. The Russian psychiatrist is mind-controlling men within the SSR, Dottie and Jarvis are in the wind and Carter has some serious explaining to do.
5) Dotty turns out to be a Russian agent for Leviathan who is every bit as cunning as violent. Trained in a ruthless girls institution she sleeps with one hand cuffed to the bed and rather than confront Carter directly gains access to her apartment to poke around. Carter makes herself useful to the SSR in a field mission to Russia with Cap's old crew where she learns the Russians are building a Stark weapon they probably stole the prints for and discovers bully Jack is no war hero. Souza discovers the mystery blonde at the club has bullet holes in the shoulder just like Carters.
4) Stark returns and convinces Carter to swap out one of his stolen inventions. They part ways when she discovers it's a vial of Roger's blood. Stan Lee makes a cameo and the boss of the SSR speaks to a Nazi leader on death row about a battle where men were torn to pieces before it started (which Stark took a plane to). Souza (cripple) is closing in on Carter. The Griffith residence has a new resident (Dotty), a ballet dancer and assassin who is poised to attack Carter.
3) The sign leads to the Heartbreak boat and the cache of stolen Stark weapons. Jarvis' causes Carter some work discomfort when questioned over the number-plate they found. He forged the signature of his superior to save his Jewish wife Anja and that 'treason' is used as leverage. Forcing Carter to intervene and lower her already diminished work reputation. SSR captain blames Stark for the hit on a key witness and an agent, even though he's still out of the country.
2) Waitress Angie tries to get Carter to move in as her neighbor but after the murder of her last room-mate she's not keen. Jarvis insists on accompanying her to track down the explosive milk truck from the factory. It goes boom with the murderous laryngectomy (Y scar) agent seemingly attached and the 'good' one dies in the exchange. He warns about Leviathan and tries to scribble a symbol in the dirt (likely Hydra).
The SSR continues to collect evidence that might link Carter to Stark's arsenal. Carter ends by taking Angie up on the apartment offer and begrudgingly accepting Jarvis' continued assistance. The episode is filled with period appropriate Captain America radio play vignettes which though initially cheesy are used to make sense of Carter's vigilante behavior. The technique works particularly well during an intercut fight sequence, contrasting the damsel in distress with the Agent in charge.
1) Following the events of Captain America in 1946, while Steve Rogers is frozen in the ocean, Agent Carter, despite being a war hero is relegated to menial duties at the SSR. When Howard Stark is accused of profiteering from the illegal sale of his weapons projects, he enlists her and his butler to find them.
Carter's an interesting character of contradiction; tough and athletic but very feminine (in presentation and emotional reaction). Pretending to be submissive but secretly something of a vigilante. She's ably assisted by Stark (not dissimilar to Tony Stark) and the Butler Jarvis (a younger Alfred Pennyworth with a loving devotion for his wife) who might just be playing her. The episode ends with the SSR finding evidence that will link to Carter and the blowing up of a rival factory.

OVER IT- 2017
6) Interesting tie-in with Agent Carter's Zero Matter story line. Wherein Rider's uncle Elias emerges as the controller of matter and the one responsible for ghosts and his nephews drive-by.
5) Rider has an episode during a prison job that reveals inmates to be Watch Dogs. Shield director goes public about being inhuman, only to be blackmailed by Simmons to avoid testing and his debate opposite.
4) Quake and Rider put their personal missions aside to join with Coulson's team in finding the Book that is responsible for the ghost infestation. Simmons has a few lies to pass regarding androids.
3) May requires a hard reboot to fix. Watch Dogs go international with new backers, using a series of EMP strikes to enable them to knock off inhumans.
2) Rider and Quake save Simmons and Mack from box-ghosts before heading out on the road again. May is restrained by the inhuman Director who is keeping Coulson out of the loop regarding Quake and May.
1) Despite orders, Agent Coulson and Mack are chasing Daisy (now Quake) who is chasing Ghost Rider. Cleanup team leader May is infected by the box Coulson finds. Fitz is helping an old friend hide a female robot and Simmons is trying to balance her friends interests with new security clearance and access to the Director.
----Season 3-------------------------------------------------------
22) The vision Daisy saw takes place. Lincoln after being badly wounded fries the controls and directs a Quinjet into space with both Hive and the warhead on board, killing them both but saving the planet. Daisy takes the loss hard and 6 months on is working as a vigilante running from SHIELD, meanwhile the doctor responsible for the primitive inhumans celebrates acquittal and the birth of Ada (perhaps an AI).
21) Hive is captured and placed in stasis thanks to intel Daisy provides from lock-up. However his escaped henchmen (a pyro and telekenetic) find a way to revive him and in so doing provide him with a missile alternative, a Quinjet courtesy of SHIELD. The episode ends with Daisy begging to be reunited with her former master.
20) General Talbot makes a long scheduled visit to SHIELD HQ due to a loose connection with the Sokovia Accords registry from Captain America 3: Civil War. During his time on base, Daisy hacks the system and seemingly helps Lincoln escape. When the Quinjet arrives though Lash emerges and very nearly ends Hive as well as his new inhuman Wolves. When Daisy intervenes, Lash cures her of the infection and sends her back to HQ and fulfilling his purpose is killed.
19) Two attempts to take out Hive fail (one scientific, one brute force) and when he calls down his own makers (Kree Hunters) and kills them in unarmed combat the situation looks very grim. When Daisy kills the other Kree (more easily than Hive's), Mack tries to get her to turn back. He nearly dies in the failed effort but at least he destroys the Kree blood vital to infecting the earth. When Daisy reveals her blood is partly Kree even that small victory is lost.
18) Ward/ Hive's infection spreads to Daisy and a handful of other inhumans - operating as a singular organism. They capture a doctor of human transcendence and intend to recreate the experiment the Kree performed to produce Hive many years ago. SHIELD take down Hydra with a whimper and Fitz & Simmons throw caution to the wind.
17) Despite all odds the super squad successfully rescue all team members and capture Malick. Too late he reveals that Ward can control inhumans, initially accusing Lincoln, Daisy leaves with mutagen crystals and the space object. After killing Malick and fracturing the team and SHIELD HQ.
16) Malick's fear of Ward makes sense when it is revealed he rigged the system to send his brother to the Hydra monster. Charles vision makes him think his time is up but Ward instead kills his daughter and reveals he not only remembers the lives of his previous victims but also seems to be victim to some of their compulsions. The team except Daisy and Lincoln are captured, making it necessary to call in the inhuman ringers.
15) Charles is a homeless inhuman who gives visions of a future death to anyone he touches. Daisy touches him twice, one death is his, the other seems to be hers. When Ward convinces Malick to kill someone himself it leads him to finally experience fear. Andrew returns and makes his final transformation in front of May into Lash.
14) Mack is trying to make time for his brother but an attack by Wolves (anti-inhuman group funded by Malick) gets in the way and outs his real job. Daisy is letting the job get personal, which despite Fitz's protestations will likely lead to disaster.
13) Following Hunter and Bobbi to Syria SHIELD uncover a plot by Malick to assassinate members of the Russian government. Though they manage to kill the threat and save the prime minister, Bobbi and Hunter are disavowed and forced to leave the team probably forever.
12) Lincoln and Daisy fight, as training partners, as idealists (regarding the possibility of a cure) and as lovers. Malick crashes a symposium on the inhumans, where General Talbot (Ward's brother and new head of the ACTU) is coerced into betraying Coulson at least until SHIELD save his son. Ward begins to build his inhuman army and sacrifices humans to return his strength.
(11) A Columbian police patrol has all their weaponry stolen in a matter of moments. Mac successfully identifies the culprit and with SHIELDS help captures the speedster (Yo-Yo) only to discover it's the police who need reigning in. Meanwhile Ward gathers his strength under the protection of Malick whilst Coulson tries to find a means to locate him.
(10) SHIELD take the base, rescue Fitz and Coulson but Will is already dead. The inhuman (alien grub thing) plays along as Will in order to try and hitch passage but Fitz burns the body and Coulson kills Ward. Garner is set loose and kills the other captured inhumans. Malick escapes and against all odds finds Ward (grub infested) waiting for him.
(9) Ward takes charge, killing Rosalind and capturing Fitz and Simmons. Playing them off each other he convinces Fitz to help them bring the inhuman back through the portal. Malich then convinces Ward to lead that team. Furious with Ward, Coulson leaves Mack in charge and utilising Ward's brother tracks Ward down in time to take the portal express. Leaving Bobbi and Hunter in the air being fired upon. Whilst Mack clears the inhuman team led by Daisy to take back the portal.
(8) Coulson proves he has the cooler head when he simultaneously interrogates Rosalind and recons the ACTU. Proving that Rosalind's government contact is HYDRA and that the science division of the ACTU has been dosing the population to produce inhumans. Fitz and Simmons determine that the NASA program that sent Will was an inhuman worshiping cult, the true purpose of HYDRA. Ward tries to make Garner turn permanently.
(7)With the help of Connor and the ACTU, SHIELD apprehend Garner. May agrees to put him in stasis. Fitz shares a possible lead on getting to Will with Simmons. Connor comes to SHIELD and Daisy saves Rosalind. Bobbi and Hunter agree to stop hunting Ward. Coulson sleeps with Rosalind who in turn is in bed with a colleague of Wards. Ward wants Coulson dead.
(6) Hunter is benched for failure. May and Bobbi (after an unorthodox field test) go after Ward, by way of Verner. An older Hydra agent sees that the boy dies. In the melee that follows Bobbi proves herself fit and May is left broken over the revelation that Garner is Flash. Rosalind reveals the medical intent to find a cure to Coulson. Daisy tries to convince Connor to come in whilst Fitz researches Will to find out what kind of man he's trying to save.
(5) A flashback episode that reveals the events on the other planet. Simmons finding a planet seemingly abandoned, apart from carnivorous aquatic life, is captured by a suspicious former astronaut Will. Time together forges a romantic relationship. When Fitz is successful in opening the portal, the evil being on the planet prevents Will returning with Simmons.
(4) Hunter runs into Ward a lot earlier than expected, May arrives to assist but is rendered impotent by the threat on Garner's life. Hunter's hot head prevails, Ward escapes injured and Verner attacks Garner. Daisy discovers the alien, is an inhuman (I suspect the leader of Rosalind's team) named Lash capable of returning to normal form.
(3) The team almost bring Lincoln in but end up having to trade to keep Daisy. When Lincoln runs, Coulson offers the government (Rosalind) a partnership. Hunter has to kill an old comrade to make it in to the new Hydra. Simmons seems to be suffering from PTSD due to her other world experience but the mystery thickens when she reveals she needs to go back.
(2) Fitz is vindicated, when with the help of Daisy and some Asgardian knowledge he manages to rescue Simmons. Hunter finds May, who agrees to go after Grant Ward. Who is rebuilding Hydra with a new violent meritocracy. After indoctrination Strucker's son (Verner) enrolls in the class taught by SHIELDs on call psychologist (Dr. Garner).
(1) Daisy (formerly Skye) and team are trying to work out who is scooping up new inhumans before they can provide aid. A new government initiative (ACTU) to replace SHIELD are suspected but Coulson's investigation suggests otherwise. May is MIA, Bobbi is in rehab for a knee injury, Couslon is trying to learn to use a new hand and Fitz is trying to get Simmons back. Simmons is seemingly lost on another planet.- 2015 & 16
----Season 2-------------------------------------------------------
The scope of characters, themes and powers increases. The inhumans come to the fore and the relationship between Skye and her parents is revealed with devastating results.- 2014
----Season 1------------------------------------------------------
Not dissimilar to other works of Joss Whedon's (Buffy and to a lesser extent Firefly) the show rewards continued viewings. Starting slowly but by the conclusion of the first season has woven an intricate web of double crossing and intrigue. Clark Gregg (Phil Coulson) is standout but he is well supported by a solid cast, in particular Ming-Na Wen (Melinda May), Brett Dalton (Grant Ward) and Chloe Bennet (Skye). - CreatorSteven LilienElizabeth SarnoffBryan WynbrandtStarsSarah JonesJorge GarciaJonny CoyneIn 1963, all the prisoners and guards mysteriously disappear from Alcatraz. It passed the time while eating but I never really connected. Around the same time I discovered Firefly during the same timeslot (GWN) and that was a keeper. Since then I've come to enjoy quite a few of Joss Whedon's works (Buffy, Dr. Horrible, The Avengers, Much Ado About Nothing) and would probably take a renewed interest in this if one of the free to air stations decided to replay it (on demand of course). - reviewed 2014

Season 3 - all 10 episodes
Sometimes the content can be a bit blue, which is unfortunate because the show is at it's best when spoofing the James Bond, secret agent dynamic and leaving the raunch to one side. When it is on song, there's not much in cartoon form that is funnier.

I had caught occasional episodes on SBS or ABC prior and found some funny moments. During a bus trip across the Nullabor for NTE with a large group of University friends we viewed 4 episodes during the trip. It surprised me how much of the humour content was sexually derived (didn't recall this at all) and subsequently I haven't seen an episode since. - CreatorGreg BerlantiMarc GuggenheimAndrew KreisbergStarsStephen AmellKatie CassidyDavid RamseySpoiled billionaire playboy Oliver Queen is missing and presumed dead when his yacht is lost at sea. He returns five years later a changed man, determined to clean up the city as a hooded vigilante armed with a bow.Season 1
A live action adaptation of DC Comic's Green Arrow (Oliver Queen) character and story arc. Many character's are renamed, omitted, events changed but the general premise remains the same. Some of the dialogue and plot construction can come across a little soap opera-ish on occasion but for the most part this is a solid action/ thriller series. At it's best when exploring the development of Oliver through his experiences on the Island. - 2014
Season 2
As the series progresses the DC universe is carefully expanded. In the villainous crew there is Deathstroke/ Slade Wilson, Deadshot, Clock King, Bronze Tiger & Shrapnel. Then there are grey knights; Amanda Waller, Mockingbird & The Huntress. Finally some additional heroes; Black Canary, Roy Harper/ Arsenal & the Flash.
The handling of each character is interesting, with many characters committing acts that clash somewhat with their expected villain or hero responses. If the upcoming Batman v. Superman and later Justice League series take a similar approach they will be a real treat.
Season 3x1 to 2, 5 to 23
The series continues to add characters: Ra's Al Ghul, The Atom and Wildcat. But more shocking is the violent end to Black Canary. A demise that fuels most of the series. Leading to the completion of the Arrow and perhaps the end of Oliver as well as the rise of a new Canary. Kitana and the Atom also feature. For flashback, Oliver has made it off the island but his time in Hong Kong is a whole new level of moral challenge. As before the two story lines come together well.

An assassination classroom begins. The End class 3-E, a group of 3rd years marked as academically deficient losers are tasked with killing their teacher (Koro Sensei). To make matters worse the teacher is a magical tentacled being with super speed and other powers who after blowing up the moon has guaranteed he will blow up the earth if they fail. The army have been unsuccessful what chance do the kids have?
----Season 1
missed... 2017 x5
14) A class bully is talked into helping White and Etona to knock Koro off. The plan involves water and draining Koro of his protective mucus reserves to tilt the fight in Etona's favour. What the bully doesn't know is it also involves putting the entire class at risk. A gamble that backfires when the class unites to stop Etona from killing Koro and taking the prize money.
13) Kurosama continues to offer extra assassination classes to the students. A former colleague of his comes to relieve for PE but his methods are a dangerous combination of false affection, bribery and violence. With Karma truanting Nagisa (narrator kid) surprises everyone by agreeing to take a real knife challenge. And surprises them again by proving he could of killed him, who tries to go a second round but is stopped by Kurosama and strangely the Principal who sends him packing.
12) Samurai Champloo took one episode to zero in on the Japanese love for baseball and here Assassination Classroom displays there own version of the game. E-Class even under Koro's guidance beat the top team only by bunting and crowding the batsmen but it's a clear message to the Principal and hints at a serious confrontation come end of year.
11) Another exchange student, Koro's brother (Etona) and his teacher a white clothed magician (aka White to me) arrive and very nearly kill Koro. The existence of another biological life-form with head tentacles (even one shaped as a kid) causes Koro to lose his cool in order to win. White puts his protege down after the initial contest and leaves to lick wounds. The students decide they want to be the assassins not some ring-in.
10) Jelavic is visited by her former mentor who is disappointed with her settling for teaching. Koro sets up an assassination challenge between the two of them that reunites Hellavic's passion. She wins because Korusama? is tired of the disruption to class. Koro also takes Karma and the narrator to see a movie. The cliche ending of brother against sister leaves Koro in tears - which seems strange until the closer reveals Koro's brother is being sent to kill him for the destruction to the moon.
9) Stretching the definition of exchange student AIFA is a mechanized infantry unit brought to 3-E to end Koro. On her second attempt she makes Koro bleed but the disruption turns the class against her and they restrain her box mounted guns so they can get back to learning. Koro takes pity on her and adds functionality intended to ingratiate her with the class, her creators deem the additions disruptive and remove them but she hides core material and in that act of rebellion gains free will and becomes Ritsu.
8) Conclusion to E Class's trip to Kyoto. Sniper Red Eye is hired to try and take out Koro and in failing learns his sweat is bulletproof and makes for a good soap. Jelavic reveals she's just 20 and Koro hints at a varied lovelife and a different body in the past.
7) Half of E Class are abducted by high school students while on a trip to Kyoto. Which would have been a real problem if Koro hadn't provided the students with a comprehensive guide book that included response suggestions for just such an occasion.
6) The Principal makes a visit to E Class to ensure the status quo continues which only drives Koro to teach better and threaten to leave if the kids don't all make the top 50 in the school. But the test is rigged with questions and topics the Principal personally taught the rest of the school but didn't even notify E Class. Koro is ashamed of the system until Karma (who aced everything anyway but decides to stay) calls him on cowardice.
5) Obaka asks Koro to drink poison she cooked up with chemistry, he complies and it has strange temporary transformative effects. Kukudon the bizarre school mascot shows up again to detail how E Class is being used a means of motivating other students to succeed by showing them abject failure. When Koro corrects a hazing opportunity at school assembly it invites the ire of the Principal with red glowing eyes.
4) Professional Irina Jelavic (Hellabitch to the students) joins the faculty as English teacher when her attempted seduction and assassination of Koro fails on day one. Koro reveals lead bullets melt on impact and takes the time to pretty Hella up.
3) Karma makes an immediate presence, succeeding on the first day in blowing Koro's arm off (with a handshake laced with knife fragments) and his feet with pink bbs. When Koro starts to use his super speed to not only foil the remaining attempts but pretty the boy up he goes all in leaping from the cliff - either Koro dies or he does (along with Koro's reputation as a teacher). Off course Koro saves the boy and then bizarrely encourages him to keep trying to kill him.
2) An attempt to kill Koro with a baseball (laced with pink bbs) fails but causes him to teach one of the students better pitching technique. Besides super speed and flight, his tentacles can read minds and determine biological data. One of the government handlers is sent in as a PE teacher and a former student expelled for violent behavior (Karma) is returned to 3-E.
1) The students are given guns with special pink bbs and floppy green knives that harm only their Koro and immediately put them to use. Chiding them for failing, Koro encourages them to be more creative but when a class member uses a bb filled grenade he gets angry. Threats are made on their family if they attempt to kill him without regard for their own safety (part of the agreement with the army). Even so Koro proves himself to be an excellent teacher with the class producing the best academic work of their time as students.- 2016

5) Qualifier. Course perhaps a little easier. Dominated by full-time workers and part-time athletes. Including a great run by a WA musician.
4) Qualifier. The course gets more difficult but a team of climbers clear convincingly. Whilst Australia's best female rock climber is stopped by the Warped Wall.
3) Qualifier. More gymnasts. More failures. Out of Perth brothers (of Australia's first Ninja Warrior Gym) only one limps through the course. Before a foul-mouthed harpy takes a well deserved plunge.
2) Qualifier. More athletes in this batch but the top spot is taken by a mothers boy.
1) Qualifier. More in common with the American variant than the Japanese original. Both because the course is easier than the Japanese behemoth and the competitors are chosen more for back-story than athletic capability. Though 2 free-running twins are impressive. The girls run the same course as the boys - and boy will the commentators never stop claiming there as good - even if they fail to demonstrate it.- 2017
