Films that should've won OSCARS (or should've at least been NOMINATED)!
Or maybe even some Golden Globes.
If you're asking, "Do you hate the Academy Awards???"
Well, maybe, just a little...
I believe if these films had, they would be appreciated & looked at more with more appropriate amounts of hype - maybe the members of the Academy Awards know something I don't know, but C'MON, these were really good films!
And how they don't have at least ONE Oscar is BEYOND me!!!

- DirectorBille AugustStarsLiam NeesonGeoffrey RushUma ThurmanValjean, a former criminal, has atoned for his past and now finds himself in the midst of the French Revolution, avoiding a law-obsessed policeman hell-bent on capturing him.As far as STORY goes, this film is FAR SUPERIOR to the 2012 musical remake - the newest version has good songs & soundtrack, but the story in terms of characters & emotion were really weak, everything just seemed forced & rushed, and I hardly felt a thing for anyone in the movie. It just came across as pretentious & self-indulgent; I couldn't see Russell Crowe as a villain, I don't like Eddie Redmayne (nor his Oscar win), Amanda Seyfried, nor Anne Hathaway (neither her baffling & confusing Oscar win) and I think Liam Neeson would give these filmmakers a phone call threatening to kill them (Psyche).
Would've been great to give Oscar nominations to Liam Neeson, Geoffrey Rush, and Una Thurman for their outstanding dramatic performances.
PS: Hugh Jackman should've gotten an Oscar nomination instead for his performance in "Prisoners" (as you'll see below). - DirectorHarold RamisStarsBill MurrayAndie MacDowellChris ElliottA narcissistic, self-centered weatherman finds himself in a time loop on Groundhog Day.I still just CAN'T believe it...
An amazing AMAZING film! A work of genius art! I can't think of what possibly offended the Academy…
A film I watched for the first time ever at the beginning of 2014, made me regret ENORMOUSLY not seeing it sooner. - DirectorMakoto ShinkaiStarsRyunosuke KamikiMone KamishiraishiRyo NaritaTwo teenagers share a profound, magical connection upon discovering they are swapping bodies. Things manage to become even more complicated when the boy and girl decide to meet in person. This film was phenomenal!!
WHY, Academy??? Why????
Hopefully the BAFTA's will be a little kinder - DirectorRich MooreStarsJohn C. ReillyJack McBrayerJane LynchRalph is tired of playing the role of a bad guy and embarks on a journey to become a video game hero. But he accidentally lets loose a deadly enemy that threatens the entire arcade. This original animated masterpiece smashes "Brave" to pieces! (Pun intended)
- DirectorJohn SturgesStarsSteve McQueenJames GarnerRichard AttenboroughAllied prisoners of war plan for several hundred of their men to escape from a German camp during World War II.Quite possibly the best World War II film I've ever seen...
- DirectorRonald NeameStarsAlbert FinneyAlec GuinnessEdith EvansA musical retelling of Charles Dickens' classic novel about an old bitter miser taken on a journey of self-redemption, courtesy of several mysterious Christmas apparitions.Nostalgia aside, this is quite possibly the BEST ADAPTATION of the Charles Dicken's Tale ever! Why?
Because it's a musical & wonderfully & creatively expands on the source material!
I give credit to Albert Finney because he's the better, talented chameleonic actor, not Jim Carrey. - DirectorDean DeBloisChris SandersStarsJay BaruchelGerard ButlerChristopher Mintz-PlasseA hapless young Viking who aspires to hunt dragons becomes the unlikely friend of a young dragon himself, and learns there may be more to the creatures than he assumed.A film I liked more than "Toy Story 3", and actually was more deserving of the Best Animated Feature Award, and I thought it was a complete JOKE it lost the Oscar for Best Soundtrack to "The Social Network"'s bland and forgettable score........ -.-'
- DirectorTaichi IshidateNaoko YamadaStarsMiyu IrinoSaori HayamiAoi YûkiA deaf girl, Shoko, is bullied by the popular Shoya. As Shoya continues to bully Shoko, the class turns its back on him. Shoko transfers and Shoya grows up as an outcast. Alone and depressed, the regretful Shoya finds Shoko to make amends. What a roller of emotions, surrounding a precious & innocent deaf girl! How could this great work of art lose to *ridiculous* & *stupid* Boss Baby movie??? What GARBAGE to be nominated for an Oscar!!! >:-(
- DirectorJohn LasseterAsh BrannonLee UnkrichStarsTom HanksTim AllenJoan CusackWhen Woody is stolen by a toy collector, Buzz and his friends set out on a rescue mission to save Woody before he becomes a museum toy property with his roundup gang Jessie, Prospector, and Bullseye. Also, can someone PLEASE get this back onto the IMDb Top 250???
WHY is it absent, I don't know! - DirectorDoug LimanStarsTom CruiseEmily BluntBill PaxtonA soldier fighting aliens gets to relive the same day over and over again, the day restarting every time he dies.A sci-fi, action, alien-invasion version of "Groundhog Day"... HOW could people not be excited to see this movie??
And the special effects in it were just spectacular & mind-blowing.
Not to mention the great story too. - DirectorCharles HaidStarsMackenzie AstinKevin SpaceyDavid Ogden StiersA brave young man is thrust into adulthood as he and his courageous team of sled dogs embark on a grueling and treacherous cross-country marathon. The Hunger Games ain't got NOTHIN' on this!
- DirectorMel GibsonStarsJim CaviezelMonica BellucciMaia MorgensternDepicts the final twelve hours in the life of Jesus of Nazareth, on the day of his crucifixion in Jerusalem.Seriously, why no Best Actor nomination for Jim Caviziel??? He's NEVER had one!
- DirectorNathan FrankowskiStarsBen SteinLili AsvarPeter AtkinsBen Stein examines the issue of academic freedom and decides that there is none when it comes to the debate over intelligent design. In my opinion, better than the documentary about Philippe Petite who just walked between the Twin Towers. The film was just WEIRD.
With meaning & originality, this documentary was far superior - and I think this genius documentary gets TOO MUCH mindless hate, from those who do nothing but use rude rants, uniformed insults, and name-calling when they are just totally insecure when their own religious pseudoscientific beliefs are logically questioned. - DirectorBoaz YakinStarsDenzel WashingtonWill PattonWood HarrisIn 1971 Virginia high school football was everything to the people of Alexandria. But when the school board was forced to integrate an all-black school with an all-white one, the very foundation of football's tradition was put to the test.My all-time favorite Denzel Washington flick, as well as the movie that INTRODUCED me to his work.
- DirectorJeremiah S. ChechikStarsPatrick SwayzeOliver PlattRoger Aaron BrownA young boy's imagination summons cowboy legend Pecos Bill, who helps him save the family farm from a greedy land-grabber. With the help of a lumberjack and a railroad worker, they all embark on a surprise-filled adventure. My all-time favorite Disney film.
And likely the most underrated ever!! - DirectorNoboru NakamuraStarsSeiya NakanoYoshitarô AsawakaYuriko AbeThe story of a man who dared to love beyond all limits. Faith jumps into action in this tale set in turn of the century Japan.or called "Shiokari Pass", a true story
- DirectorPierre MorelStarsLiam NeesonMaggie GraceFamke JanssenA retired CIA agent travels across Europe and relies on his old skills to save his estranged daughter, who has been kidnapped while on a trip to Paris.WOW! WHAT a badass surprise!

- DirectorSteven SpielbergStarsDustin HoffmanRobin WilliamsJulia RobertsWhen Captain James Hook kidnaps his children, an adult Peter Pan must return to Neverland and reclaim his youthful spirit in order to challenge his old enemy. My favorite Robin Williams movie! :D
- DirectorDenis VilleneuveStarsHugh JackmanJake GyllenhaalViola DavisWhen Keller Dover's daughter and her friend go missing, he takes matters into his own hands as the police pursue multiple leads and the pressure mounts.Oh MAN was this flick intense - had me on the edge of my seat, just guessing & guessing. Both performances from Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal were MORE deserving of Oscar nominations, instead of those from the egocentric & pretentious "American Hustle" and "Nebraska".
