Cameron Crovetti shares with IMDbPro what it's like playing two very characters on Big Little Lies and The Boys and much more.5 of 6
IMDbPro: What has playing Josh Wright in Big Little Lies and Ryan Butcher in The Boys have taught you as an actor?
Cameron Crovetti: Playing Josh on Big Little Lies taught me about character development. I played a child who lived in a household with domestic violence. I learned about the importance of research and character development. My mom and I watched interviews and studied the impact of DV and PTSD on children. Ryan Butcher is a completely different character than Josh, because Ryan lived in a world that was completely sheltered as opposed to Josh who had witnessed violence all throughout his life. Josh is a deeply wounded character that has to hold his emotions in and keep them close to his heart. On the other hand, Ryan is being slammed in the face with a monster and he has to adjust fast. I had to adjust to playing a character that has the trauma happening to him in real time and allow myself as an actor to express raw emotions.
