Visually spectacular; a mesmerising cinematic masterpiece which is at once awe-inspiring, riveting and pioneering. The direction, score, acting, practical effects and story are out of this world. See it on the biggest screen you possibly can.
A story of humanity — love, exploration, sacrifice, cowardice — and what it means to be human in a world of interstellar travel. Quotable, thought provoking and scientifically satisfying, 'Interstellar' will linger in your mind long after the credits roll.
It epitomises the interconnected beauty of score and film. This is what cinemas are made for.

A larger than life, absolute blast of a film. Led by a breathtaking, career best performance by Leonardo DiCaprio, perfect casting elevates this energetic biopic beyond the limitations of morality to provide an enchanting true story of the destructive power of greed and wealth.

The most mind-bending, perception-altering film you will ever see. The film that distinguished Nolan's film-making style as one of the greatest in cinema.
Top 250 #10 - DirectorChristopher NolanStarsChristian BaleTom HardyAnne HathawayEight years after the Joker's reign of chaos, Batman is coerced out of exile with the assistance of the mysterious Selina Kyle in order to defend Gotham City from the vicious guerrilla terrorist Bane.8.5
An epic conclusion to one of the greatest trilogies in film history. With spectacular action and a thought provoking plot, 'Rises' imparts a wisdom that anyone can be a hero - an inspiring take-home message that transcends the big screen.
With it's dark world-building, thoughtful dialogue and stimulating direction, Nolan helps us to question our innermost assumptions on the relationship between power and money, continuing the theme he set in motion in TDK and adding the element of revolution to the mix. It feels believable - a trait that is only so because of the attention to detail Nolan insists upon.
By forcing Batman to recontemplate his past, we are likewise taken on a journey whereby we can grow a deeper appreciation of the dark road our Dark Knight has been formed through. It resonates to a spectacular emotional level.
Hathaway is seamlessly introduced, playing a satisfyingly seductive Catwoman as the kind of anti-hero to Tom Hardy who plays a fantastic Bane. You will feel intimidated by his presence and intrigued by his backstory; my only complaint is how tamely he was taken out!

- DirectorDavid YatesStarsDaniel RadcliffeEmma WatsonRupert GrintAs Harry, Ron and Hermione race against time and evil to destroy the Horcruxes, they uncover the existence of the three most powerful objects in the wizarding world: the Deathly Hallows.7.5
Doesn't stand on its own, feels distinctly part one of two, with a complete lack of pace or direction throughout the second act. The weakest film in terms of story and writing; if not for its pure scope it would be nigh on unenjoyable at points. It just feels a bit ridiculous sometimes, rehashing some old elements and with little surprise. On paper it sounds like it should be one of the best, its gorgeous cinematography alone adds something unique to the franchise, but it just feels off.
The closing scene is the best part of the movie - as it builds for the true finale. Other than that - it's main highlight is the animated tale of the three brothers which adds depth to the prophecy. Ultimately though - Hallows should have been the one film or had to be completely distinct (a la Infinity War/Endgame). Plot holes galore, with no Hogwarts and missing main characters; thank god they get it right in Part 2. - DirectorDavid YatesStarsDaniel RadcliffeEmma WatsonRupert GrintHarry, Ron, and Hermione search for Voldemort's remaining Horcruxes in their effort to destroy the Dark Lord as the final battle rages on at Hogwarts.8.5
As epic as it comes, 'Hallows' does not disappoint in bringing grandeur to the franchise with battles, stakes, and earned character moments.
My main gripes - Hermione is mostly underutilised in this finale of a story she has helped craft and Remus' offscreen death - which was as infuriating as Mad-Eye a few films prior. But those upsets pale in comparison to what the finale gets right. - DirectorQuentin TarantinoStarsSamuel L.
