- DirectorFrank DarabontStarsTim RobbinsMorgan FreemanBob GuntonOver the course of several years, two convicts form a friendship, seeking consolation and, eventually, redemption through basic compassion.9.4
Unforgettable. A beautiful tale of hope, friendship and redemption. Synonymous with great film lists and rightfully so - its unlikely you will ever feel so deeply affected by a film. Totally story driven, it heals your soul.

A mesmerising tale of love and sacrifice. With beautiful set pieces and awe-inspiring dedication from its cast and director, 'Titanic' is a truly timeless, emotional masterpiece that will bring you to tears on every viewing.
Top 250 #5 - DirectorMartin ScorseseStarsRobert De NiroRay LiottaJoe PesciThe story of Henry Hill and his life in the mafia, covering his relationship with his wife Karen and his mob partners Jimmy Conway and Tommy DeVito.9.0
A must see for any lover of cinema. Told in Scorsese's trademark narrative style, it is magnificently violent and powerfully acted; the greatest mobster film to ever grace the big screen.
Top 250 #8 - DirectorLana WachowskiLilly WachowskiStarsKeanu ReevesLaurence FishburneCarrie-Anne MossWhen a beautiful stranger leads computer hacker Neo to a forbidding underworld, he discovers the shocking truth--the life he knows is the elaborate deception of an evil cyber-intelligence.8.8
A sci-fi marvel which expanded the possibilities of cinema, and invited millions to question the nature of their reality. It's revolutionarily bold, creating a breath-takingly bleak, though nonetheless awe-inspiring, world.
Top 250 #18 - DirectorSteven SpielbergStarsSam NeillLaura DernJeff GoldblumA pragmatic paleontologist touring an almost complete theme park on an island in Central America is tasked with protecting a couple of kids after a power failure causes the park's cloned dinosaurs to run loose.8.4
An awe-inspiring wonder ahead of its time. With memorable characters and an inspired story, 'Jurassic Park' is for dinosaurs what 'Jaws' is for sharks.

- DirectorJames CameronStarsArnold SchwarzeneggerLinda HamiltonEdward FurlongA cyborg, identical to the one who failed to kill Sarah Connor, must now protect her ten year old son John from an even more advanced and powerful cyborg.8.7
The most badass action movie ever made. 'Judgement Day' reconceived what Schwarzenegger could bring to the character - a 'Bad to the Bone' cool, straight talking and endlessly quotable GOOD guy.
It's such an easy movie to enjoy - imagine having your own personal Terminator! The action scenes are immense - riding away from an explosion on a motorbike with a firey backdrop is as iconic as the opening scene with Arnie getting clothes and a ride. Sarah Connors is jacked here too - truly epitomising the era of badass women.
The story itself is perfect - a well meaning invention causing the future global apocalypse, for which the future has sent back two Terminators with opposing purposes - to protect and to kill. The T-1000 will live in your nightmares - his ability to morph into whoever he chooses was ground-breakingly brilliant! By the end you'll find yourself feeling emotion towards a machine - that's filmmaking!
I did say it was endlessly quotable: "Your foster parents are dead", "Come with me if you want to live", "The data could be called pain", "No problemo" and of course "Hasta la vista, baby".

A beautiful story of being replaced, lost and found which may well rank as the greatest animated adventure of all time.
Colourful animation that stands the test of time, Pixar's (now trademark) attention to detail enhances what was already a super creative premise - fulfilling its potential with style and ease.
Tim Allen produces my favourite voice performance ever with his witty Buzz Lightyear. A film you'll never tire of watching.

- DirectorFrancis Ford CoppolaStarsAl PacinoDiane KeatonAndy GarciaFollows Michael Corleone, now in his 60s, as he seeks to free his family from crime and find a suitable successor to his empire.7.8
A quite brilliant subversion of expectations. Not quite to the splendour or grandeur as the first two, yet a fittingly devilish end for a exhausted Don Corleone that just couldn't get out.
By trying to replicate the Shakespearean structure of its predecessors, it highlights their greatness without doing much to further its own. Ultimately the easiest watch of the trilogy that may be better described as an unfocussed epilogue.
"Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in." - DirectorTony KayeStarsEdward NortonEdward FurlongBeverly D'AngeloLiving a life marked by violence, neo-Nazi Derek finally goes to prison after killing two black youths. Upon his release, Derek vows to change; he hopes to prevent his brother, Danny, who idolizes Derek, from following in his footsteps.8.0
Shocking and more relevant in 2020 than ever, AHX should perhaps be introduced into schools as essential learning to understand the complexities of racial divides. Norton produces a performance you cannot distinguish from reality as his character transforms from one extreme to another. - DirectorDavid FincherStarsBrad PittEdward NortonMeat LoafAn insomniac office worker and a devil-may-care soap maker form an underground fight club that evolves into much more.8.5

- DirectorMichael MannStarsAl PacinoRobert De NiroVal KilmerA group of high-end professional thieves start to feel the heat from the LAPD when they unknowingly leave a verbal clue at their latest heist.8.8
A meticulous showdown of two acting behemoths. Its gripping coffee shop standoff is iconic, reminding viewers the power of simplicity in achieving unease and character depth.
The life never pays - on either end of the law. Like Drucker, De Niro's Neil finds himself one step away but unable to give up the life, gifting viewers an evocative payoff to one of the films great quotes: "Don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner."

A horror classic of its generation which paved the way for a new subgenre of meta cinema. It's whodunnit style is at once inspired and goofy.
