Twilight Zone Ranked
9.7/10 as a whole. Masterpiece of a show. I will rank each episode, but I won't use exact ratings because I don't think there is a point for a 24 minute episode. I clearly have some controversial opinions. I think some a really underrated. So you'll see that here.
Love the show. Have since I was a kid. List not finished as I am watching the show from beginning to end.

*if a write (a favorite) it means that it is a personal favorite and i hold it up as one of the bests even though maybe another episode is more complex or well written. so take it as a plus sign. for instance great (a favorite) is like great+. so that means i think it is top tier of great. if a say masterpiece+ that means it is one of the whole show.

so basically this episode is really basic but its the first on the show and i enjoyed it. the acting was good, sets great, and eeire and haunting as usual. - DirectorRobert ParrishStarsRod SerlingEd WynnMurray HamiltonA pitchman is visited by Mr. Death and is forced to get his priorities in order.Great (a favorite)
So I guess this is my first controversial pick. I really love this episode. always have. I find lou to be a very loveable character who goes on a really heartwarming arc and accepts that he has to give up his life to save a girl starting hers. I think the acting holds this one up and maybe thats why i love it so much. i think the actor that plays death is strangely haunting in some way. I think this should be at least 8.5 on imdb but id rate it in the nines. - DirectorAllen ReisnerStarsRod SerlingDan DuryeaMartin LandauThe town drunk in the old-west faces his past when Fate lends a hand.Good
This one is good but nothing special. Cool acting. martin landau was in it. who thought of a jewish cowboy. bold move! haha. its a fun episode and you dont associate westerns with twilight zone. - 1959–196425mTV-PG6.8 (5.1K)TV EpisodeDirectorMitchell LeisenStarsRod SerlingIda LupinoMartin BalsamBarbara Jean Trenton is a faded film star who lives in the past by constantly re-watching her old movies instead of moving on with her life, so her associates try to lure her out of her self-imposed isolation.Good
This one is definitely low tier of good but i still thought it was creepy in the right places and sad in others. Sounds like my honeymoon! RIP Norm. - DirectorRobert StevensStarsRod SerlingGig YoungFrank OvertonA man, fed up with where he's at in life, finds himself not only in his old hometown, but back to the time when he was a boy.Masterpiece (a favorite)
I love this episode. First off, the main actor is a cross between jimmy stewart and cary grant. he sort of has the leading man old hollywood star look about him. the episode is unassuming at first but unravels into a tale of childhood nostalgia and sadness that brings you right into their world, making you want to revist your past. One of my favorites for sure.
apparently, gig young, the actor i talked up so much, murdered his wife and killed himself. im not sure about all that leading man talk all of a sudden. - DirectorMitchell LeisenStarsRod SerlingDavid WayneThomas GomezA hypochondriac man sells his soul to the devil, exchanging it for several thousand years of immortality.Good
This one is good. Dont think any of the actors are that endearing though it is done well of course... although i do like that the devil is a big fucking fat guy for some reason. - DirectorJack SmightStarsRod SerlingJack WardenJohn DehnerConvicted of murder, a man is sent to a deserted asteroid in space to serve a 50-year prison sentence.Great (a favorite)
fantastic episode with a pretty tragic ending. I like the main actor. also, why the fuck cant any fucking body say robot in this episode. - DirectorJohn BrahmStarsBurgess MeredithVaughn TaylorJacqueline deWitA henpecked book lover finds himself blissfully alone with his books after a nuclear war.Masterpiece
Perfect episode. sad main character. treated badly by everyone around him. tragic and depressing. one of the bests. he keeps getting beat up on and he just doesnt fight back so when the world blows up youre like fuck it theyre pricks anyways but then he gets punished so you feel like a prick yourself. classic episode. - DirectorRobert FloreyStarsRichard ConteJohn LarchSuzanne LloydA fatigued man fights to stay awake as he explains to a psychiatrist that if he falls asleep it will trigger a nightmare, which will cause his heart to fail.Very Good.
I think the ending is one of the bests but the dream sequences kinda bring it down for me. - DirectorJohn BrahmStarsRod SerlingNehemiah PersoffDeirdre OwensIt's 1942, and a man finds himself on a ship in the Atlantic, not knowing who he is, nor how he got there. He does know the ship will soon be attacked by a German U-boat.Very Good (a favorite)
I like this episode a lot. The moral is interesting and kinda haunting. It's like a very bad version of karma. I like the main actor and the setting of the ship under attack and the main with amnesia being questioned by other passengers was fear inducing. great main actor. - 1959–196425mTV-PG8.3 (5.1K)TV EpisodeDirectorDouglas HeyesStarsRod TaylorJim HuttonCharles AidmanThree astronauts return from man's first flight into outer space and can't remember the trip.Great (a favorite)
this is a really good take on death and people surviving near death experiences. its haunting to see people disappear and be reclaimed by death, having their lives and memories erased, as friends cant remember each other and go back to their maker one at a time. - DirectorAlvin GanzerStarsSteve CochranErnest TruexRead MorganA small time crook plans to exploit an old street peddler who has the uncanny knack of selling people exactly what they will shortly need.Pretty Good
One of my least favorite episodes. I think its really overrated. The premise is pretty basic. The only thing that this episode is is watching a bully get his comeuppance. - DirectorJohn BrahmStarsHarry TownesPhillip PineRoss MartinA man who can change his face to look like other people uses his ability to improve his life, regardless of his effect on others.Pretty Good
Also don't like this episode that much. Cool visuals but the premise is basic and the end is somewhat predictable. Also it is a bit hard to follow. - DirectorRichard L. BareStarsFritz WeaverEdward AndrewsJoe MarossTwo families of Government employees plan to steal a spaceship and travel to another planet just prior to a nuclear war. They must also deal with a stooge who wants to stop them.Great
This one was really good. Great tension throughout and a great scifi twist ending that makes you question the origins of the whole plot. very meta and topical with the political situation of the time. - 1959–196425mTV-PG7.6 (4.1K)TV EpisodeDirectorStuart RosenbergStarsDewey MartinEdward BinnsTed OtisOrder breaks down between three surviving crewmen whose rocket ship crashes on an unknown world with limited water and supplies.Great (a favorite)
I think this one is underrated. I like the premise that men turn to beasts when they feel unconstrained by the law or by the gaze of other humans and that when they realize they have been constrained the whole time they regret everything. In other words they never left earth. Ill never forget who introduced me to this and that will always make it the most special for me. - DirectorAlvin GanzerStarsInger StevensAdam WilliamsLew GalloA young woman driving cross-country becomes frantic when she keeps passing the same man on the side of the road. No matter how fast she drives, the man is always up ahead, hitching her for a ride.Great (a favorite)

Wow. what an episode. I know this episode by heart. I still remember analyzing in 9th grade. The cinematography is perfect, the acting is memorable, the characters are great, and the plot is an insight into our worst instincts.

Did he leave the twilight zone or did he enter it? That's what i like most about this episode. to me, the ending kinda felt like maybe he was escaping into the twilight zone and he was actually crazy in real life. idk thats what i thought. it was a very good episode. the music made me uncomfortable. - DirectorAnton LeaderStarsKevin McCarthyEdgar StehliEstelle WinwoodSam Kittredge accidentally discovers that his prospective son-in-law fought in the Civil War.Very Good

A little trepidation putting this in very good cuz its mostly because of the ending. the premise is kinda goofy but i think it gets very good because the ending is pretty great and is chilling and didactic.
