It's hard to imagine a show or movie in the John Wick universe without John Wick, but that's exactly what "The Continental" is. The new three-part Peacock series is technically a prequel to the John Wick films, but it's entirely centered on Winston Scott, played in the original movies by Ian McShane. "The Continental" stars Colin Woodell as Winston and explores his origin story, tracing how he came to run a hotel that provides sanctuary for off-duty assassins and other criminals.
Based on the timeline alone, it's technically impossible Reeves could appear as John Wick in "The Continental," since his character is a child in the 1970s. As fun as it would be to see Reeves play a teenager, the 59-year-old actor has passed that threshold at this point.
It's also unlikely we'll see a young version of John in the show. Thanks to the comics and "John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum,...

Conan O’Brien’s late-night TBS show is getting a companion. The network has ordered a four-week run of a new untitled late-night comedy series starring comedian Pete Holmes and produced by O’Brien’s Conaco production company, which is also behind O’Brien’s talker Conan. The Pete Holmes series will launch in fall 2013 and air four nights a week (Monday-Thursday) at midnight, following Conan. Taped before a live studio audience, the new show will combine sketches, short films, live comedy, field pieces and in-studio guest interviews. O’Brien, Jeff Ross, David Kissinger, Nick Bernstein and Dave Rath executive produce. Conaco has had the right to program the slot after Conan as part of O’Brien’s original deal with TBS, which he signed in 2010, shortly after his exit from NBC. The agreement mirrors that of David Letterman’s production company Worldwide Pants, which owns/produces both Late Show and Late Late Show.

NBC has renewed its contract with Svp Special Programs and Alternative Doug Vaughan, with his expanded responsibilities including and oversight of most of the network’s late-night programs. Now Svp Special Programs and Late Night, he will shepherd Saturday Night Live, Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and Last Call With Carson Daly. He will remain based in New York and report to alternative and late-night president Paul Telegdy, who will continue to oversee The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on the West Coast. The move is part of the restructuring in NBC late night, which started last month when Telegdy added late-night to his purview and the network’s long-time head of late-night Rick Ludwin stepped down, followed by the exit of VP Nick Bernstein. A former supervising producer on Today, Vaughan will retain responsibility for NBC’s specials and several alternative series including such East Coast-based fare as the...
