Shanda Lee was born and raised in a small Eastern Iowa town, Dubuque, also referred to as the "Masterpiece on the Mississippi." She has since moved thirty-six times in the past two decades.
The oldest of four children, and definitely the most dramatic. Her love of performing started at a very young age when she was cast as "Ballerina 1" in a school play in the second grade. Dozens of theater productions followed over the years, as well as forcing her parents to watch endless musical performances with her siblings. They did Madonna proud.
Although she wanted to move to Los Angeles for acting after high school graduation, her mother "wisely" suggested going to college first to get a "real" degree. After graduating with three (Marketing, PR and Spanish), she worked in Marketing for John Deere for several years. It was there that she truly honed her acting craft. Pretending to enjoy fixing transmissions is one of her greatest accomplishments to this day. She can also now operate heavy machinery like a boss.
While working in the South she excitedly began her professional acting career. After attending a cattle call for Remember the Titans (2000), she was, unfortunately, not selected to be an extra on the film. So, like any wise actress should do, she crashed the "chosen" line and started working the next day. Within a few hours she was bumped up to a day player and became Kate Bosworth's "best friend"...and got her SAG card!
Shanda has now worked as a Actress, Director, Producer and Writer and loves all facets of the industry.
In addition to developing numerous television and film projects at Play Nice Productions with her business partner, Chevy Burnett, Shanda owns Gold Standard Athletics (a multi-sports training facility), Beautiful Chaos Design + Events, the Scene studio (a Performing Arts Studio), is a published author, and a talent manager with ACP Talent Enterprises in Los Angeles.
She's most passionate about her family, friends, and work. She is blessed with two incredible children.
She is open to collaboration, so please feel free to reach out!
