Giant tech and media investor Silver Lake, which is Endeavor’s largest shareholder, said it plans to propose taking the company private after Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel announced it is evaluating “strategic alternatives.”
“Silver Lake is committed to strategies that deliver value for all shareholders of Endeavor. To that end, Silver Lake is currently working toward making a proposal to take Endeavor private. Silver Lake firmly believes in Endeavor’s business and is not interested in selling its shares in Endeavor to a third-party nor in entertaining bids for assets that are a part of Endeavor,” the private equity firm said in a public statement.

The Australian Screen Editors’ (Ase) Guild has announced its nominees for the 2011 Ellie Awards.
Across seven categories, the Ase Guild recognises achievements in editing across feature film, television, documentary, music videos, commercials and short films.
Blame, Mad Bastards, Oranges and Sunshine and Tomorrow When the War Began, are all up for an award. So to is East West 101, Jandamarra’s War, Spirited, short film Something Fishy, Carlton Draught’s Slo Mo ad and Tim and Jean’s music video for Don’t Stop.
The awards are nicknamed the Ellies after the bronzed elephant statues.

The Dream Children is an Aussie production exploring the personal struggles and social prejudices experienced by same-sex couples. According to its creators, a handful of production companies in Europe have shown interest in the film which is likely to become a co-production. It will be submitted to festivals on the international circuit hoping to gain momentum for a cinema release in Australia next year. Based on a 2001 play by Julia Britton entitled Internet Baby, the film chronicles the relationship between a charming television personality, Steven Evans (Graeme Squires - pictured right), and his honest and sensitive partner, Alex (Nicholas Gunn - pictured left).
