The Golden Globes love to acknowledge the children of major Hollywood stars, and no one fits the bill more at this upcoming ceremony than John David Washington. The son of Denzel Washington and Pauletta Washington, John David has earned strong acclaim for his performance as Ron Stallworth in “BlacKkKlansman,” and awards experts are saying he is a contender to receive his first Golden Globe nomination in the Best Drama Actor category, especially because of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s proclivity for showbiz dynasties.

Tippi Hedren, star of Alfred Hitchcock's 1963 avian horror classic The Birds, alleges in her new memoir, Tippi, that the late Oscar-nominated director sexually assaulted her, according to excerpts obtained by the New York Post. On one particular occasion, Hedren claims, Hitchcock came into her dressing room on the set of Marnie and "put his hands on me. It was sexual, it was perverse. The harder I fought him, the more aggressive he became.” Hedren, a 31-year-old actress living in New York, was recently divorced from adman Peter Griffith at the time Hitchcock saw her in

Much like Drew Barrymore, Kate Hudson, and Jane Fonda before her, Dakota Johnson comes from an impressive (and talented) Hollywood lineage. Her grandparents are Tippi Hedren, Hitchcock muse and star of The Birds, and Peter Griffith, a Broadway actor. Her parents, of course, are actors Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, and her former stepfather is Antonio Banderas. Dakota made her big-screen debut alongside her mother in 1999's Crazy in Alabama, but her big break came when she was cast as Anastasia "Ana" Steele in the movie adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey (she's currently filming the second film adaptation of the series with Jamie Dornan). She's also starred in Black Mass and the romantic comedy How to Be Single with Leslie Mann and Rebel Wilson. Aside from showing off her acting chops, Dakota has also blossomed into a breakout style star and made us laugh with her off-the-cuff remarks and...

Alchemy Networks CEO Peter Griffith was one of the first media executives to bet YouTube viewers would pay to access certain channels. His company was one of the YouTube’s initial partners when it debuted subscription channels in May, launching a network dedicated to videos of rap battles. Even at the time, Griffith acknowledged that he wasn’t sure if it would work. Now? He’s sure. “Most of us are not happy with the numbers we’ve seen,” Griffith told TheWrap, lamenting that the program was “too early” and that there were a lot of kinks for YouTube to work out.

Peter Griffith is turning to TV for the money he can’t make on YouTube. The CEO of Alchemy Networks has a half-hour show debuting on Bounce TV Monday night. “Brkdwn” features two hosts riffing on news like Lamar Odom’s divorce. It’s a swift jump for a show that’s less than a year old and has a relatively small subscription base. While a handful of successful online properties have already made the jump to TV, including the Annoying Orange on Cartoon Network and AwesomenessTV on Nickelodeon, they earned those shows after developing massive subscribers bases on YouTube.

Hooray for nepotism. One of Clint Eastwood's daughters, Francesca Eastwood, has been named Miss Golden Globe for this January's awards show. She joins a long list of celebrity offspring including Rumer Willis (Demi Moore and Bruce's little girl) and Lorraine Nicholson (the apple of Jack's eye) in receiving the honor. Other past Miss Gold Globes include Melanie Griffith (daughter of Peter Griffith and Tippi Hedren) and Laura Dern (daughter of Bruce Dern and Diane Ladd). Francesca Eastwood is the daughter of Eastwood and actress Frances Fisher. She is the second Eastwood to...

From MTV Geek:
Look at that big, lazy jerk. You could meet him in the game!
We've got our first look at screenshots from the upcoming Mmo based on Family Guy called (obviously) Family Guy Online. There still aren't a lot of details about what the game is about or what players will be doing in the fully-3D version of Peter Griffith's hometown, but it's currently in closed beta. According to the info page on the site, with the free-to-play game "You can create a character, become a citizen of virtual Quahog, and play and interact with your friends and favorite show characters." According to these screenshots (and what's likely the back of a player character's head), yup, you can definitely create your own character and tool around Quahog interacting with characters from the show.

It is always interesting to see how the veteran shows challenge themselves on premiere night. Will “The Simpsons” show all the others how it is done? Will the manic, surreal weirdness of “Family Guy” reign? How about the newest kids on the block, “American Dad” and “The Cleveland Show”? Here is quick rundown…
