Steven Laflamme wrote, directed, and produced "Cigarettes &
Superheroes", which was a top five finalist in Kevin Smith's
Moviesaskew Film Festival. Kevin Smith is best known as the better half of the Jay and Silent duo from such films as Clerks and Mallrats. Steven flew to Hollywood for the festival and met him. Smith congratulated him on being a finalist.
Steven's short film My Dad (a true story) was a hit at the IFCO (The Indie Filmmaker's Co-op of Ottawa) film premier, which was hosted at the National Archives of Canada.
His screenplay "Baby On Board" came 4th out of 4500 entries and 31 countries at the Houston International Film Festival in Texas.
He has also recently completed writing The B-Files. A TV Pilot which The Austin Film Festival gave a Recommend. Which is rarely given out and for some companies means guaranteed financial and critical success! A producer who has offices in England at Warner Brother Studios is interested in B-Files!
As well, his short film The Birthday Card got 2 million views on Reels and was a finalist in 5 film festivals including The Independent Shorts Film Awards in L.A.
He has also published a graphic Novel based on his award winning TV Pilot B-Files. He has since sold 70 copies of B-Files in the last year, had a book signing and it's in two Indigo bookstores.
Most recently he wrote the feature film Grocery Wars and a producer in Los Angeles is interested in it. It was top 65 out of 3500 entries in Scriptapalooza and on the Hot 100 list in the Capital Film Fund. A3 Artists is now considering him for representation.
He also wrote the TV Pilot Into The Shadows and David Winning an LA director is considering it.
