- In 1991 with no previous professional acting experience, Colin attended an audition at The Old Vic Theatre, London for Simon Callow's award winning musical, "Carmen Jones" on the recommendation of a friend. He was cast immediately by Callow and has since work multiple times with the actor, director & writer.
- Amongst his many attributes as an actor, singer, writer & director, Colin is also a passionate Bagpipe player! A skill acquired at the tender age of 11 in the 5th Croydon Boys' Brigade Company, under the tutelage of Pipe Major John H Shone & Pipe Major Ian R Fleming.
- For 10 years, Colin was the bass singer of the cult A Cappella Group "The Magnets.".
- Colin started out life as a trainee tax accountant, estate agent & hygiene chemical salesman before becoming a full time actor/performer.
- Colin has 2 sons, Thomas Lainchbury-Brown/Tom Brown (Film Director) & Joseph Griffiths-Brown/Joe Griffiths-Brown (Actor.) Is this a dynasty.
- Colin has been married 3 times in 1984 to Kären Lainchbury with whom he has a son, Thomas & in 1994 to Julie Griffiths with whom he also has a son, Joseph. Since 2008 he has been married to world renowned cellist, singer & comedienne, Rebecca Carrington daughter of founding King's Singer member Simon Carrington.
- In 2006 Colin embarked on a one year, worldwide tour with chart topping & multi award winning artist Robbie Williams as a backing singer.
- On hearing Colin's voice, President Barack Obama, whilst attending an award ceremony for groundbreaking innovations & inventions (Hermes Awards) reportedly said, "I like that voice, I want to hear it again." And hear it again he did, Colin was then hired again to voice the ceremony the following year.
