Victor Levin's 5 to 7 is a romantic drama about a young writer in Manhattan that could be a superhero flick if its leading man wore tights. It's as much a triumph of boyish wish fulfillment as Peter Parker swinging on skyscrapers. Brian (Anton Yelchin) is one of those suffering artists whose great tragedy is that at 24 he's yet to be published by the New Yorker. Or really, that he's yet to live a life worth writing about. Brian lives like a monk, wallpapers his room in rejection letters, and seems one step away from flagellating himself with the cord of his MacBook. How he supports himself is unclear. What is clear is that we're supposed to cut our hearts open for the poor dear who deserves to become one of the great writers of his generation simply because he wants...

Tribeca coverage continues with Diana on 5 to 7 with Anton Yelchin & Glenn Close
Based on the imaginings of an out-of-touch, middle-aged writer-director, 5 to 7 is about a 24 year-old “writer” (Anton Yelchin) who becomes involved with the 33 year-old wife of a French diplomat (Berenice Marlohe). Brian lives in Manhattan, presumedly on his parents’ dime (Glenn Close and Frank Langella, both painfully misused), and attempts to write, his creative juices facilitated by posting a multitude of rejection letters on his wall and playing lonely man wiffleball in his apartment. Arielle also lives in Manhattan and is oh so very “French” -- husband, two kids, posh neighborhood, and ability to balance high heels with a well-fitting dress.
Spotting Arielle in front of the St. Regis, Brian pursues her through quips that sound more like early drafts of “wit” rather than the finished product (think Woody Allen without the neurotic charm). She tosses words back at...

Brian Lives Again
Family Guy caused quite an uproar in late November, when Brian was hit by a car and killed. Fans protested, and petitions were started to get Brian back on the show. Well, it seems that creator Seth MacFarlane and his team of writers never truly intended to kill Brian off for good. After the episode aired, MacFarlane tweeted, addressing the death of the beloved cartoon dog for the first time via twitter.
“I mean, you didn’t really think we’d kill off Brian, did you?” he wrote:
And thus endeth our warm, fuzzy holiday lesson: Never take those you love for granted, for they can be gone in a flash.

Kerry Katona has revealed to Digital Spy that her ex-husband Brian McFadden has abandoned their children. The 32-year-old - who sparkled in a black all-in-one suit ("Can you believe it's a size 8?!" she squealed) at her book launch today - told us about her and the kids' relationship with the former Westlife star. She said: "Brian lives in Australia. They see him about twice a year. I think it's quite shocking. As far as I'm aware, they don't even speak every week." When asked if she thought he had abandoned his kids, she said: "Yeah, I'm not here to slag Brian off, I'm just stating facts. "I never had a dad myself and I think any kind of man who moves to the other side of the world and leaves their children is terrible - I don't think it's acceptable. "What annoyed me most about that (more)...
