“Only Murders in the Building” will be getting even more murder-solvers with a meta twist.
The upcoming fourth season of the beloved Hulu series will star Eugene Levy, Zach Galifianakis, and Eva Longoria as the film adaptation versions of Steve Martin’s Charles, Martin Short’s Oliver, and Selena Gomez’s Mabel, respectively.
Levy, Galifianakis, and Longoria were all previously announced as cast members, but there roles are now confirmed. All actors are playing versions of themselves.
Of course, Levy, Galifianakis, and Longoria are no strangers to TV. Levy led Emmy-winning viral series “Schitts Creek,” while Longoria appeared in the iconically camp ABC drama “Desperate Housewives.” Galifianakis starred alongside Ted Danson in the cult HBO comedy “Bored to Death,” another show that combined elements of comedy and murder mystery.

As Martin Short says in the recently released Only Murders in the Building Season 4 trailer, “somewhere lay a sniper’s nest,” and the identity of that sniper will prove even more difficult to discover in the latest installment of Hulu’s murder mystery series, which has expanded its star-studded cast quite a bit.
The teaser trailer, plot summary and a new photo reveal the purpose behind the addition of some of the stars, because, in Oliver’s words they’re “goin to the movies.” The “starriest season yet” will arrive this summer on Hulu, bringing back the original trio of sleuths as well as other characters who have been a part of their Arconia drama since the beginning.

Do you feel like you’re seeing double?
Hulu has released a behind-the-scenes photo of “Only Murders in the Building” Season 4, featuring series stars Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short alongside special guest stars Eva Longoria, Eugene Levy, and Zach Galifianakis — the actors who will be playing Mabel, Charles, and Oliver in the movie based on the trio’s podcast. And to be clear, they’re playing themselves.
Season 4 of Hulu’s hit mystery comedy is bi-coastal, set between New York and Los Angeles, and will follow the podcasting trio as they try to solve the murder of Charles’ stunt double Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch) — which may have been an attempt on Charles. Their investigation takes them to Hollywood, where a film studio is working on an adaptation of the podcast.
Other new cast members in Season 4 include Molly Shannon, Kumail Nanjiani, Desmin Borges, Richard Kind, and Melissa McCarthy.

Only Murders in the Building is going Hollywood in a major way with Season 4.
While the overall plot for the season had mostly remained under wraps, it was revealed in mid-May via a teaser trailer why the core trio Charles-Haden Savage (Steve Martin), Oliver Putnam (Martin Short) and Mabel (Selena Gomez) would be headed to Los Angeles.
Charles, Oliver and Mabel will wrestle with the shocking events at the end of season three surrounding Charles’ stunt double & friend Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch). Questioning whether Sazz or Charles was the intended victim, the trio’s investigation leads them to Los Angeles where a Hollywood studio is readying a film about the Only Murders podcast. As our amateur sleuths race back to New York, they embark on an even more epic journey — traversing their building’s courtyard to delve into the twisted lives of the Arconia’s West Tower residents.

"I didn't feel like I really ever leaned into playing handsome," said Jude Law, speaking to DuJour in 2024. "[...] I was trying to play against my looks in my early 20s, and now that I'm saggy and balding, I wish I had played it up."
He's got a point. A survey of the English actor's roles after becoming a bigger name in the '90s reveals that he rarely played good-looking stand-up guys when he was younger. Not only that, but on those occasions where he did lean into his natural beauty, he would often play some kind of cad (like he did in "The Talented Mr. Ripley" and "Alfie") or a character whose insecure, selfish behavior makes it difficult to appreciate his gorgeous features (like in "Closer" and "I Heart Huckabees"). "A.I. Artificial Intelligence" even went so far as to weaponize Law's looks by making them artificial and plastic-y...

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire was just released and the results are pretty interesting. The opening of Frozen Empire saw an impressive $45 million domestically. That was 1 million more than 2021’s Afterlife. The curious part is that the Ghostbusters reboot starring Melissa McCarthy opened with $46 million. That film was lambasted by fans because of the all-female cast and made a poor box office of #229.1 million. That’s $25 million more than Afterlife, though the pandemic was still a valid excuse around this time as well. Frozen Empire can go on to be a massive hit that makes over $500 million...

As if Hillary Clinton and Malala Yousafzai weren’t enough of a powerhouse duo on Suffs, Melissa McCarthy is one of the many other people behind the scenes of the six-time, Tony-nominated musical from Shaina Taub.
The actress serves as an investor in the show and was immediately “blown away” by it when she first saw it on Broadway, noting it made her laugh and cry several times.
“Sometimes, it was a heartbreaking cry,” McCarthy tells The Hollywood Reporter exclusively. “Then also sometimes there’s just like a, ‘How are we still fighting this shit?’ cry, where you’re like, ‘I’m angry for my daughters. I’m angry for so many people.’ It really runs the gamut, but it’s certainly an emotional ride.”

Seinfeld shared that he didn’t care about the critical opinion and commented that he wanted to read the negative reviews since he found them to be funny. Exclusive: This year, comedian Adam Ray has something special in store for his June 16 birthday — the introduction of his third special, Like and Subscribe, which will debut on YouTube on that date before arriving on VOD platforms June 18.
Filmed in Madison, Wi, the special comes at a time when Ray’s popularity has reached new heights, in part due to his success with a satirical take, in full prosthetics, on daytime talk show host Dr. Phil McGraw — as seen in his digital series, Dr. Phil Live!. Produced by 800 Pound Gorilla Media, his new hour covers everything from awkward flight to his rapper brother-in law, Disneyland etiquette, and his childhood dream.

It is a sad state of affairs in Hollywood when you can have such talented actors as Diane Keaton, Kathy Bates and Alfre Woodard, but the best you can do is stick them in boomer-baiting forgettable comedic contrivances like Summer Camp, the latest in a long line of movies for Keaton, who also is a producer on it, in which she is cast with female peers of similar age to mix slapschtick with attempted pathos and senior romance. It is the kind of formula you can sell with a simple pitch: Take three beloved septuagenarian Oscar winning and nominated stars and send them back to the summer camp where they bonded as kids. Hilarity and hijinks ensue, along with giving each a later-in-life regret or dead husband to add a bit of drama to the proceedings. Bingo! The mid-week matinees will be sellouts!

Jerry Seinfeld’s latest comments on ‘dominant masculinity’ and ‘sense of hierarchy’ have irked some fans on social media. The comedian’s TV show, Seinfeld, included a plethora of jokes that mocked these topics back in the 1980s and ’90s. However, he shared in a recent podcast interview that he missed real masculinity due to his career as a comedian, which he said was a childish pursuit.

For those who adored Jerry Seinfeld’s iconic sitcom, Unfrosted might come as a peculiar turn. While everyone’s favourite cereal mascot does star, the reception is far from sugary. Some critics label it one of the decade’s worst movies. The Plot and the Peculiarity Unfrosted tells a wacky tale purporting to unveil the birth of Pop-Tarts amid cereal wars between Kellogg’s and Post in the ’60s. Starring Seinfeld as Bob Cabana, a fictional executive, and supported by an ensemble cast including Melissa McCarthy and Hugh Grant, it leverages historical nostalgia for laughs. According to Variety, it is fairly clear that the

Disney is apparently invested in keeping up with one of their most successful franchises, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ with or without Johnny Depp at the helm.
When Disney decided to part ways with Depp at the height of the Amber Heard controversies, Reports soon emerged that they were looking forward to having an all-female led reboot starring ‘Barbie’s’ own Margot Robbie, but the idea didn’t take.
Now there are plans to bring Dune’s ‘Austin Butler’ onboard and fans can’t wait to see it. The downside? We might have to live with having Austin Butler have a pirate accent for the next five years or so.

Only Murders In The Building Heads to Hollywood in New Season 4 Teaser - Main Image
Disney has dropped the first teaser trailer of the Emmy-winning mystery comedy series Only Murders in the Building:
The trailer confirms what we already know: Season 4 will see our amateur true crime podcasters Oliver Putnam (Martin Short), Charles Haden-Savage (Steve Martin), and Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez) hit the streets of Los Angeles, as they find a studio interested in bringing Only Murders to the big screen.
In the cliffhanger finale of Season 3, our amateur sleuths join an after-party to celebrate the triumphant opening night of Oliver’s murder mystery musical Death Razzle Dazzle. Not long after they close the case of Ben Glenroy’s elevator accident, they will be confronted soon by the “hot, fresh, dead body” of Charles’s friend and long-time stunt double Sazz Pataki (played by Jane Lynch).

The cast of Only Murders in the Building has become more and more star-studded over the years, and as it approaches its fourth season, the starpower has gone through the roof. The third season recruited Meryl Streep, who remains on board for Season 4, Paul Rudd, Jesse Williams, Ashley Park and more. The murder of Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch), who played Charles-Haden Savage’s stunt double on Brazzos at the end of Season 3 provided the cliffhanger to transition into a fourth installment.

"Only Murders in the Building" has earned pretty much universal acclaim for its first three seasons, including an 8 out of 10 /Film review from Josh Spiegel for season 3. It's also been responsible for Meryl Streep's return to TV, a weirdly catchy original Steve Martin tune (or two), and an official companion podcast called "Only Murders in the Pod." Plus, of course, the show has won four Primetime Emmys and counting. So what's next for the series? In a word: Hollywood.

DC Studios is wasting no time in setting a release date for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow now that the movie has found its director.
The high-profile movie will fly into cinemas on June 26, 2026, DC and Warner Bros. announced Tuesday. It is the second film to receive a release date since James Gunn and Peter Safran were brought in to overhaul DC under the new banner DC Studios. The first was Superman, which Gunn is currently shooting for a July 2025 release date.
Flimmaker Craig Gillespie was tapped by Gunn and Safran to shepherd Supergirl, which stars Milly Alcock (House of the Dragon). She’ll play Superman’s Kara Zor-El, the cousin of Superman. The feature film, from a script by Ana Nogueira, is inspired by the Tom King and Bilquis Evely comic, and will depart from the earnest take on the character seen on the CW Supergirl series.

In an interview with TV Insider, Kaley Cuoco revealed that she didn’t initially get the role of Katie in “The Big Bang Theory” because she was considered too young. When the role was revisited a year later, she was called back to read for Penny.
“I didn’t get [the role of Katie] the first time around. I was too young, which I love saying because I don’t get to say that I’m too young anymore. [Laughs]. Kelly Clarkson looks and feels amazing. But with so much discussion around celebrities taking the diabetes drug Ozempic to aid in weight loss, it seems that any time someone makes a lifestyle change, people assume they’re taking the medication. In late April, Barbra Streisand made headlines when she commented on actor Melissa McCarthy’s Instagram photo asking if she lost weight with Ozempic — it’s become the norm to question it.
Pop icon Kelly Clarkson recently appeared on The View, where she made sure to let people know she is not one of the celebs on the weight loss drug.

Rebel Wilson is revealing that her “Bridesmaids” paycheck didn’t amount to much after joining the SAG-AFTRA union. The Australian actress said during the “Diary of a CEO” podcast with Steven Bartlett that the majority of her $3,500 salary for the 2011 comedy went to union fees. Wilson was on set for one week of work.
“That was my first job in America,” Wilson said. “I was very lucky to get it. I mean, what an awesome cracker of a movie, to get that but to be paid that little. And basically that $3,500, I then had to pay to the union to join the union. So, basically, I made no money.”
In fact, Wilson actually lost money for her part in the film due to press tour. “I lost money because I had to pay to go to the premiere to buy my dress and everything. So, I lost money doing ‘Bridesmaids,...

In 2019, Sandra Oh simultaneously received her seventh and eighth acting Emmy nominations for “Killing Eve” (drama lead) and “Saturday Night Live” (comedy guest). Five years later, her performance bid total is set to reach an even dozen thanks to her respective lead and supporting performances in the telefilm “Quiz Lady” and the limited series “The Sympathizer.” Earning TV academy recognition for these two roles would make her the eighth woman to compete for both possible limited program acting awards at once.
In “Quiz Lady,” which premiered on Hulu last November, Oh plays Jenny Yum, a vivacious yet reckless woman who reunites with her estranged younger sister (Awkwafina) to resolve their mother’s gambling debts. “The Sympathizer,” which began airing on HBO in April, features her in the role of Sofia Mori, a 1970s Japanese American secretary who becomes entangled with a communist spy (Hoa Xuande).

Jerry Seinfeld wanted Chris Rock to parody Will Smith slapping him at the 2022 Oscars for his Netflix movie Unfrosted.
While appearing on Dana Carvey and David Spade’s podcast Fly on the Wall this week, Seinfeld said he initially wanted to cast Rock in the role as the host of the Bowl & Spoon Awards, which eventually went to Cedric the Entertainer.
“We shot that right after the Will Smith slap,” Seinfeld said. “I was going to have somebody come up on the stage and have Chris punch ’em out as they got there.”
However, Rock “wasn’t up to perform” the parody of the incident. “He was a little shook from that event,” Seinfeld explained. “That was what that scene was going to be, but Cedric saved the day.”

Jerry Seinfeld revealed during a recent interview on the “Fly on the Wall” podcast (via People) that he wanted Chris Rock to parody the infamous Oscars slap in his feature directorial debut “Unfrosted,” which recently premiered on Netflix. The issue was that Seinfeld filmed the comedy movie not long after the March 2022 Oscars, and Rock was allegedly feeling too “shook” to be able to perform in the movie.
“The other thing I wanted to do that I almost did was Chris Rock was going to be the emcee of the Bowl & Spoon Awards — and we shot that right after the Will Smith slap,” Seinfeld explained. “I was going to have somebody come up on the stage and have Chris punch ’em out as they got there.”

“Initially I did say no,” admits Golden Globe nominated actress Chrissy Metz while discussing her participation as Poodle Moth on the Fox reality TV series “The Masked Singer.” “I didn’t think I could do it. I was like, ‘I don’t know if I’m the girl for the job.’ Also, I run hot, especially in my face. How am I going to have a mask on and sing in the way that I’m supposed to sound good? It took some convincing. Ultimately, I realized it was really fun, challenging and liberating.” Watch her exclusive video interview with Gold Derby senior editor Denton Davidson above.
Metz was unmasked as Poodle Moth on Wednesday night’s quarter-finals episode of Season 11. She went home in fourth place as Clock, Goldfish and Gumball advanced to next week’s semi-finals. Panelist Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg was the only one who guessed her identity.
