Erin Michael(I)
- Actor
- Additional Crew
- Second Unit Director or Assistant Director
Born in Orange, Ca. Erin grew up in the L.A. suburbs. As a child his
parents, Cliff and Georgette Davidson, were students at the Pasadena
Playhouse before its foreclosure. He attended their rehearsals as a
child when they were involved with various theatre companies and so was
introduced to the actor's life at a very early age. He has one sister,
Shaun Michelle Davidson, who has left the entertainment industry
indefinitely to pursue other goals. But Erin has continued to
persevere. After a couple of independent films he toured up the Pacific
Coast Hwy. on a mountain bike and performed on stages in Santa Cruz,
Ferndale, and Nevada City. He worked in radio in Eureka and Nevada City
after which he finally returned to Hollywood and performed in the
industry doing background and atmosphere work. After three years of consistent work in
Hollywood, he moved to Oregon where he pursued more training in
videography. It was in a dinner theatre production of Gilbert and
Sullivan's The Sorcerer where he met his actress/singer/dancer wife. He moved to Las Vegas and produced several episodes of Sista Social's Las Vegas Adventures, worked on a 48 Hour Film Project submission with Cohencidence Productions, and was Director of Photography for Vegas World.
He tried to help get a new Oregon based production company, Wild
Child Entertainment, off the ground but wasted six years trusting the integrity of others. The 2008 economy crises forced Erin to relocate back to the Pacific Northwest where he currently resides. Discouraged by nepotism and the undermining of localized SAG/AFTRA work in Oregon State by the use of non-union vouchers and the union actors that use them, Erin went on inactive status with SAG/AFTRA only later to discover someone there dropped the ball, resulting in outlandish fees to reactive his status. He has chosen to reject a union that has never been a positive contribution to his chosen career and has, indefinitely, left an industry where talent has not been a prerequisite for more than 30 years.
