As the celebrations for Christmas draw closer, music legend Frank Sinatra hit another music milestone, 25 years after his demise.
The 13-time Grammy winner, who died in May 1998 at 82, just hit this year’s Billboard Hot 100 top 20 with his 1948 recording of ‘Jingle Bells’, reports People magazine.
As per Billboard, the recording climbed from the Number 28 to Number 20 slot on the Hot 100 dated December 2023. Sinatra’s Christmas tune became his fourth Top 20 Hot 100 hit and his first song to reach the Top 20 since 1967.
From December 8 to December 14, the late crooner’s song streams increased by 19 per cent, totaling 16.9 million U.S. streams. Additionally, the song has reached 15.3 million all-format radio audiences and sold 1,000 downloads, per Luminate, according to Billboard.

Jingle Bells has an Aka. That’s right. It also started life as a Thanksgiving Song. That’s true. The popular song we’ve come to know as a Christmas song had some sexy lyrics for its time. They were substituted for more politically correct ones. Here’s what happened. The song was originally published in Boston as “The One Horse Open Sleigh”. The year was 1857, and it was written for minstrel shows, which were common then. James Lord Pierpont wrote the song. His friends called it Pierpont’s “merry little jingle”. It’s not the chorus that was sexy. It was the original verses.

La-La Land Records has announced the world premiere release of the score for the 1983 comedy Trading Places. The album features the score by Elmer Bernstein, which incorporates Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro. The soundtrack is limited to 2000 copies and is available to order on La-La Land Records’ website, where you can also check out audio samples from the score. Trading Places directed by John Landis stars Dan Aykroyd, Eddie Murphy, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ralph Bellamy and Don Ameche. Bernstein has received the movie’s sole Academy Award nomination for his work on the comedy, which was also nominated for two Golden Globes for Best Comedy and Eddie Murphy’s lead performance.

La-La Land Records has released a new 2-cd set of the soundtrack for Steven Spielberg’s 1979 movie 1941. The album includes the remastered and expanded score composed by John Williams. The soundtrack is expanded by more than 70 minutes of previously unreleased music and also includes the content of the original 1979 soundtrack album. For audio clips and the full soundtrack details, visit La-La Land Records’ website. 1941 starring Dan Aykroyd, Ned Beatty, John Belushi and Warren Oates was Spielberg’s and Williams’ fourth collaboration on a theatrical feature project following Sugarland Express, Jaws and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. The movie has received three Academy Award nominations for Cinematography, Visual Effects and Sound.

Darren Criss is expected to be announced as Daniel Radcliffe's temporary replacement on Broadway musical How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying. Earlier this month, reports circulated that the Glee star had entered into talks with the show's producers about taking on the lead role of James Pierpont Finch when Radcliffe exits the production in January next year. Darren Criss is reportedly being eyed up to replace Daniel Radcliffe in the Broadway musical How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying. According to Deadline, the Glee star will shortly begin negotiations with the musical's producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron to take over for a three-week stint when Radcliffe exits the show in January 2012.
