- He was found murdered in his Hollywood Hills home, killed with a single gunshot wound to the head. This murder is still unsolved.
- Saletri allegedly directed a 1975 feature film called "Black the Ripper" starring Renata Harmon, Bole Nikoli, and Hugh Van Putten. Although the film was announced formally in Variety, it is a mystery to film archivists whether or not it was ever actually completed.
