Shari L. Schneider received her B.A. In Theatre from Millsaps College
in Jackson, Mississippi. Since then, she has been in five films: "The
Ponder Heart" for Masterpiece Theatre on PBS with JoBeth Williams and
Peter Munich, "Cookie's Fortune" with Glenn Close and Julianne Moore,
directed by the late genius, Robert Altman, "John John In the Sky", and
"Elvis" for ABC television. Her favorite college productions include
"Look Back In Anger", "Paint Your Wagon", "Damn Yankees", "West Side
Story", "The Merchant of Venice", "Dangerous Corner", "Hay Fever",
"Picnic" and "Candida". At the Equity Theatre, "New Stage", in Jackson,
Mississippi, favorite productions include "Abundance" and "Crimes Of
The Heart" by Beth Henley, "The Robber Bridegroom", "Private Lives", "A
Midsummer Night's Dream", "Gershwin", "The Diviners", "The Foreigner",
"The Nerd", "Arms And The Man", and "Smoke On The Mountain". Shari is a
BMI songwriter and has written a musical entitled, "Sweet Pilgrim"
based on the book, "Jesus and the Sweet Pilgrim Baptist Church". Her
educational series, "Write Right" aired nationwide that allowed people
to get their GED in English. She enjoys playing the piano and guitar,
and dedicates her life to her late husband, the Grammy-nominated
songwriter, Scott Mateer, and to her three kitties, Susie, Fluffy, and
Misty.
