HBO Europe and Berlin-based Dreamer Joint Venture Filmproduction have boarded “Trust Me,” Joanna Ratajczak’s probing doc feature on a real life couple’s experimentation with an open relationship.
“Trust Me” will be presented at Locarno’s Match Me networking event by Stanislaw Zaborowski, at Warsaw’s Silver Frame, the project’s lead producer. The HBO Europe co-production was put through by Hanka Kastelicová.
Headed by Oliver Stoltz, Dreamer Joint Venture produced Marc Wiese’s 2020 doc feature “We Hold the Line,” about Filipino dictator Rodrigo Duterte’s persecution of journalists, and Markus Imboden’s “On the Edge,” an Arte France-backed relationship drama.
It turns on Alicja and Sebastian, a couple which seems to have it all – a happy relationship, two wonderful children, money, a large number of friends – until Sebastian proposes that they should open up the relationship to other partners.

Laura Kim and Paul Federbush of Red Flag Releasing have acquired stateside rights to distribute Sundance documentary collage The Green Wave. Written and directed by Ali Samadi Ahadi and produced by Jan Krueger and Oliver Stoltz, the doc about the 2009 Iran populist protests also screened at the Washington DC, Seattle and Human Rights Watch film festivals. Red Flag will theatrically release the film around the third anniversary of the Iranian elections in June of 2012. The film’s release will include theatrical, OnDemand, DVD, and digital download channels. The Green Wave documents the brutal attacks by government militia trying to squelch protests that followed the suspicious victory of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad over progressive candidate Mir-Hossein Mousavi in the Iranian presidential elections on June 12, 2009. Yesterday, The Cultural Post received an e-mail from Canadian screenwriter Dennis Foon (A Shine of Rainbows). In this announced e-mail, he announced that Life, Above All will have its world premiere at the Cannes International Film Festival on May 18.
First of all, the film was directed by Oliver Schmitz (Paris, je t'aime), produced by Oliver Stoltz (Lost Children) and scripted by Dennis Foon (A Shine of Rainbows). It was included in the festival's official selection in the category "Un certain regard". Obviously, Foon won't be the only Canadian competing in this category, for he'll be accompanied by director Xavier Dolan, who directed Les amours imaginaires, and Noah Pink, who directed ZedCrew.
Furthermore, the film is based on a novel of Canadian author Allan Stratton. The story addresses the knotty question of HIV/AIDS through the eyes of a 16-year-old girl living in a small African city.
As for the screening date,...

I love getting IndieWire’s Cannes Wish List. IndieWire's commentary on each film is interesting in and of itself. I find myself remarking "I didn't know that!" at every other entry. My former Tipped for Cannes Report (when FilmFinders was my company) was one of my most popular reports because film buyers and programmers could immediately hone in on their targets. So, in keeping with tradition, I pulled together the list Screen International (Si) and blogger ion (he did a lot of research for this!) published in February just after the Berlinale and am now going to compare it with Iw’s. My links for the title are to IMDbPro and for the contact either to the seller (Isa=International Sales Agent) or the producer.
After this, I will track which of these land in Cannes, which in Toronto, Venice, etc.; which get acquired by whom (to be gathered together...
