Mary-Margaret Stratton is a graduate of UCLA and studied design, philosophy and performance at UCLA, the Groundlings and the Second City, Hollywood. She is an accomplished performer, composer, producer and writer. She established the MidMod Squad team with the goal of producing education entertainment with a retro aesthetic twist and managed the career of pop culture performance artist, Cherry Capri', for years.
As an educator and producer, Mary-Margaret serves as an advocate for historic Mid-Century Modern architecture. She helped to save the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood from demolition. She has produced tours, live events and "retro festivals" including three Mondo Lounges. Her guidebook, How Modern Was My Valley, received critical acclaim in the New York Times and Wall Street Journal. Mary-Margaret wrote Mondo Vegas!, the first comprehensive tour book about mid-century buildings in Las Vegas, NV, and coined the phrase "Mid-Mod' now in common use. Mary-Margaret's work in Creative Direction includes consulting for IBM, Thomson Financial, Canon. She received awards from PC Publishing, American Corporate Identity, American Society of Instructional Designers and C.I.N.D.Y (Cinema in Industry). She drew the 1950s fashion illustrations for Barbie's 30th Birthday for Mattel Licensing. As a painter, her work has been featured alongside the likes of SHAG and Mark Ryden.
In the entertainment industry, she contributed music for and served as associate producer for the seminal Gay Rights film, I Want to Get Married (2011), set design and decorating for CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000) Season 2: You've Got Male (2001), numerous television commercials, still shoots, and a scene in the iconic movie Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005). In addition, she provided technical writing for DreamWorks Animation for The Prince of Egypt (1998) and The Road to El Dorado (2000).
Lastly, Mary-Margaret is a Certified Raw Food Nutritionist and Ordained Essene Minister and writes under the pen name, Anand Sahaja. She is a former Board Member of the Alliance for Addiction Solutions. Her diverse background in performance, design, education and healthy living give her the unique ability to guide family entertainment that helps viewers to happier, healthier, more wholesome lives.
