Elizabeth Thomas, the Tennessee teen allegedly abducted by her former teacher before being recovered weeks later in Northern California, turns 16 years old today, People confirms.
Elizabeth was returned to her family on April 21 after she was found staying in a remote cabin with her accused abductor, Tad Cummins, a former health sciences teacher at her high school in Maury County, Tennessee. The pair had been missing since March 13.
Elizabeth is currently undergoing counseling and will celebrate her birthday with her family, her brother James Thomas tells People. The quiet celebration will be held privately in an undisclosed location and attended by close family.

It’s been three days since missing 15-year-old Elizabeth Thomas was reunited with her family in Tennessee, after allegedly spending more than a month with her accused kidnapper and former high school teacher, Tad Cummins.
Although Elizabeth is safe, her older brother says her ordeal is far from over.
“It makes me relieved that she’s not physically broken,” James Thomas, one of Elizabeth’s nine siblings, tells People. “But at the same time it makes me worried about … how far did he sink his teeth into her mentally?”

More than a month after she first vanished, the Tennessee teen allegedly kidnapped by her teacher has been found safe in California – ending her family’s ongoing nightmare.
“We’re absolutely ecstatic, what other things could we say?” Elizabeth Thomas’ grandmother, who opted to remain unidentified, tells People exclusively. “And we’re very appreciative for all the people that prayed for this day to happen.”
Thomas, 15, and Tad Cummins, 50, were found in Northern California, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced Thursday. Cummins was arrested.
The pair disappeared on March 13 from Maury County, Tennessee, and were the subject of an ongoing Amber Alert.

In the months leading up to the disappearance of Elizabeth Thomas, the 15-year-old was allegedly “groomed” by the man authorities believe abducted her: her 50-year-old teacher, Tad Cummins.
But nobody saw any signs.
“That to me is terrifying,” her brother, 27-year-old James Thomas, has told People. “ he had that much control over her without anyone knowing.”
Now, as the search for Thomas continues since she went missing March 13, alleged details about her and Cummins continue to emerge. Cummins was allegedly caught kissing Thomas in January at the Culleoka Unit School, where he was a teacher and she was a student.

(Cbr) "Breaking Bad" alum Jesse Plemons and "Attack the Block" star John Boyega are among the frontrunners to play the lead role of a young Jedi in "Star Wars: Episode VII", sources tell Variety. Other performers reportedly under consideration by director J.J. Abrams: "Eragon" and "Downton Abbey" star Ed Speleers, and theater actors Matthew James Thomas ("Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark", "Pippin") and Ray Fletcher ("Fetch Clay", "Make Man"). Although the search remains open, the website contends those names are now at the top of the list. According to Variety, while details about the character are sparse, he’s expected to be a Jedi apprentice. While Michael Arndt’s original draft is said to have focused on the children of Han Solo and Princess Leia, the rewrite by Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan reportedly move them into supporting roles. Plemons, the "Friday Night Lights" alum who played the fan-favorite...

• Star Wars Episode VII: casting Adam Driver as a villain is one very odd move
Downton Abbey's Ed Speleers and Attack the Block's John Boyega are on a shortlist of five actors tipped for a leading role in director Jj Abrams' Star Wars: Episode VII, reports Variety.
The pair join Jesse Plemons, who was in Breaking Bad, as well as stage specialists Matthew James Thomas and Ray Fisher, in the running to play a young Jedi apprentice who will take on Adam Driver's previously announced "Darth Vader-like" villain.
Episode VII will focus on the heroes of the original trilogy – Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo – but a younger actor is also being sought who will presumably move to centre stage for succeeding films. Variety reports that Abrams...

One can imagine that, when it was announced J.J. Abrams would helm the forthcoming Star Wars: Episode VII, the Bad Robot switchboard must have been immediately clogged with the names of ambitious young actors and actresses, desperate to travel to a galaxy far, far away. In terms of prestigious film roles, they don’t come with a higher profile than those in a Star Wars movie. While official and verified casting announcements have been few and far between for this top secret project, Variety is now reporting that the net is closing on a young male lead, with a possible shortlist being considered.
In terms of screen actors, first of all, there’s Ed Speelers – the charismatic young star who has been entertaining Downton Abbey fans with his performance as footman Jimmy Kent since 2012. Then, there’s John Boyega – the talented lead of 2011’s Attack The Block, who has been...

A galaxy far, far away is still looking for a hero to wield a lightsaber against the forces of evil.
It might be one of the five actors that Variety reports is up for the lead role in "Star Wars: Episode VII." They are:
Ed Speleers (Jimmy from "Downton Abbey") John Boyega ("Attack the Block") Jesse Plemons ("Friday Night Lights," "Breaking Bad") Matthew James Thomas (Broadway's "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark") Ray Fisher (the New York production of "Fetch Clay, Make Man")
Sources tell Variety they're at the top of the very long list that director J.J. Abrams has made to find his lead actors. It seems like he's met nearly every young actor and actress in all corners of the business to discuss the highly-anticipated follow-up to "Return of the Jedi."
The lead role is said to be that of a Jedi apprentice, possibly an offspring of either Luke or Leia.

Following the abrupt recall of the recently revealed UK quad poster for Mark Tonderai's thrilling new thriller 'The House at the End of the Street' we didn't it would be too long before we would have our eyes clapped on a new UK one-sheet. Elisabeth Shue ('Piranha 3-D'), Max Thieriot ('My Soul to Take'), Nolan Gerard Funk, Gil Bellows, Krista Bridges, Allie MacDonald and James Thomas all co-star and you can head below for the new poster courtesy of Momentum....

Nothing helps sell a movie more than a great big picture of the gorgeous Jennifer Lawrence ('The Hunger Games', 'X-Men: First Class') slap bang on your new UK quad. And low and behold that's exactly what we have for the new poster from Mark Tonderai's 'The House at the End of the Street'. Unfortunately the new poster also makes note of an 'awesome twist' which already pretty much ruins the film for you. I simply cannot relax 'knowing' there's a twist to be uncovered. You think it's the future, but it's actually set in the past, it's not Earth, it's all a dream, they're all clones, he's his own brother, everyone's a ghost!! Elisabeth Shue ('Piranha 3-D'), Max Thieriot ('My Soul to Take'), Nolan Gerard Funk, Gil Bellows, Krista Bridges, Allie MacDonald and James Thomas all co-star. Head below to check out the new quad.

Broadway’s most expensive musical is still nabbing the week’s biggest headlines. First, ousted Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark director Julie Taymor made her beef with the show’s producers official on Tuesday when she filed a federal lawsuit against 8 Legged Productions and Spidey co-writer Glen Berger for copyright infringement and breach of contract. Their response: We’ll see you in court. Then actor Matthew James Thomas — making his debut as Peter Parker — was injured offstage during a Wednesday matinee performance.

Not again! “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” has had another bump in the road. This time Matthew James Thomas, who plays Spidey on the Wednesday and Saturday matinees, suffered a head injury this week during the performance.
Newsday, which reported on the injury, was unable to say how exactly Thomas got hurt because the producers aren’t saying much about it themselves. The article did say that he had to go to the hospital for stitches and the producers of the show portrayed the injury as “minor.” The producers also made it clear that he wasn’t hit in the head by anything.

Your friendly neighborhood MTV Splash Page editor was in attendance at a performance of "Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark" last night, and while there were a few technical glitches that stalled the show, there didn't appear to be any on-stage injuries during the production. The same cannot be said of a performance last week, however, that put actress T.V. Carpio out of commission for two weeks.
Carpio, who plays the eight-legged, goddess-like Arachne in the musical, suffered the undisclosed injury during a March 16 preview performance, according to The New York Times. The report indicates that the injury occurred during a fight scene with actor Matthew James Thomas, who replaced Reeve Carney as Peter Parker for that night's performance.
