- Frank L. Thompson was born on August 19, 1920 in Oklahoma, USA. He was a costume designer, known for The Parallax View (1974), The Pajama Game (1957) and Wind Across the Everglades (1958). He died on June 4, 1977 in Los Angeles, California, USA.
- His last project was the costume designs for Mikhail Baryshnikov's production of Tchaikovsky's ballet "The Nutcracker", on both stage and television. Thompson died six months before the television version was actually shown.
- His only award nomination came posthumously, when he was nominated for an Emmy for "America Salutes Richard Rodgers: The Sound of His Music". He was not nominated for his costumes for the Baryshnikov production of "The Nutcracker".
