- Daughter of John G. Ahern lawyer and granddaughter of Dr Ahern, dean of Laval university's faculty of medicine and of Charles Marcil, member of Canadian parliament. She was the first french-Canadian woman accepted at McGill university in the late 1930s. She then became in 1941 an announcer at Radio-Canada and later became famous for her Sunday night show Music-Hall (the French Canadian public TV network of the 'Ed Sullivan Show') and as an interviewer for 'Aujourd'hui', a general information show.
- She did translation for her husband Pierre Tisseyre's publishing house and won a Governor General's prize for translation in 1975. Their son Charles Tisseyre is the host of 'Découvertes', the Radio-Canada (French Canadian public TV network) science show.
