Amazon Studios has picked up a fourth and final season of Goliath, its original drama series starring Billy Bob Thornton. The news Thursday comes a little over a month after the streamer rolled out Season 3 last month, revealing a new case for Thornton’s conflicted super-laywer Billy McBride.
The legal drama, created by David E. Kelley and Jonathan Shapiro, broke ground at Amazon, landing the first straight-to-series order at the platform which at the time was employing exclusively a pilot model, making its pilots available to the public.
Since its 2016 debut, Goliath has been one of the most popular original series on Amazon, at one point holding the crown as the service’s most binged show. Thornton won a Golden Globe that first season for playing McBride, the hard-living, once-famous L.A. lawyer with a complicated past who seeks redemption by solving cases nobody else can crack.

Law & Order: Svu often provides a much-needed bit of hope in what can sometimes feel like a bleak world.
This show deals with rape, murder, and all the worst that humanity has to offer on a regular basis.
Sometimes, like on Law & Order: Svu Season 18 Episode 16, the culprits are people who viewers just know would get away with their horrendous crimes in the real world. But Benson and Barba almost always get the bad guy in the end.
It's unrealistic, especially when there's an 11th hour save more worthy of a soap opera than a serious drama. But seeing the good guys win makes it all worth it.
Harold Coyle was one of the worst Svu villains in recent memory. He was smarmy, cocky, and seemingly untouchable. He had a ton of money and worked for a network that apparently would do anything to protect him.

In all of the craziness that is “We All Pay Eventually,” Banshee displays its growth over three gripping years by giving two supporting characters the chance to verbalize the heart of the episode, season and series thus far:
“I am guys like that…I will always be that man…I am doing everything I can to change. And every once in a while, I manage to convince myself that I’m a better person.”

Regardless of where cliches originate, many of them persist because of how well they hold up over time. When it comes to pain, physical or emotional, one of the timeless cliches has been that we always hurt the people we love the most. There has been research carried out in explaining the phenomenon, but I can’t claim to have a real idea of how convincing any of it is. Instead, my interest is in how the theory applies to Banshee, since “Even God Doesn’t Know What to Make of You” is a smorgasbord of examples of conflict between people who care deeply for one another.

A sitcom has two primary jobs in terms of becoming a success: to build a world viewers will want to continue spending time in, and to make them laugh. The former is perhaps the more daunting task, but both are nebulous, hard to measure, and difficult to figure out in advance. British television is often vaunted as superior to its American counterpart, but if American TV has one advantage, it is that the increased episode orders on network television give American sitcoms time to find themselves in their first season. You, Me & Them, the new sitcom from writer/creator Steve Turner, does a decent job at building out a world and cast of characters worth spending time with, but in its six-episode first season, it all too often forgets to be funny.

Mudhoney: The Sound and the Fury from Seattle, written by Keith Cameron, offers the complete story of the band that many consider the inventors of “grunge,” and produced with their full cooperation. Before everybody loved their town, Mudhoney was just an unlikely quartet of Seattle-music-scene knockabouts—two college dropouts, a carpenter, and the best drummer in town. But in 1988, the band’s debut single, “Touch Me I’m Sick,” and subsequent Ep, Superfuzz Bigmuff, turned the indie-rock world on its ear and lit the way for the grunge movement that would put Seattle on the map. In Mudhoney: The Sound and the Fury from Seattle, veteran music journalist Keith Cameron recounts stories from founding members Mark Arm, Steve Turner, Dan Peters, and Matt Lukin, as well as current bassist Guy...

While Nirvana's landmark Nevermind album officially turns 20 this week, the celebration of all things Kurt and company has actually been going on in the band's adopted hometown since late April. That's when the "Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses" exhibit opened at Seattle's Experience Music Project.
The carefully curated compendium of all things Nirvana is a kind of holy grail for the band's biggest fans, but according to curator Jacob McMurray, it's also been a magnet for typically jaded locals who have grudgingly (or is it, sorry, grunge-ingly?) have dropped in and admitted that, yeah, it's pretty awesome.
"For me, it's been way more than I expected," McMurray said of the thousands who've wandered in to gawk at such iconic objects as the band's first recording contract and late singer Kurt Cobain's first smashed guitar. "Every time I go into the gallery, even if it's a Monday morning, it will be packed.
