Tune-Yards frontwoman Merrill Garbus showcased the band’s recent song “Hypnotized” on Jimmy Kimmel Live with the help of a puppet. The song is off the band’s upcoming album Sketchy., out on March 26th.
As she sings the pulsating song, Garbus moves the puppet, created in her own image and wearing a similar dress. She’s joined by her band and backup singers, but the focus stays on the lookalike puppet, whom Garbus lays down on a table at the end of the performance.
Tune-Yards have released several songs so far from Sketchy.

Callie Day, a church singer from Atlanta, Ga, performed during Tuesday’s Judge Cuts 4 episode of “America’s Got Talent” and had all of the panelists up on their feet with her rendition of “Up To The Mountain.” Julianne Hough even teared up when she raved that Callie “captured my heart” following her performance of the classic gospel song, so why was Callie ultimately eliminated just prior to making it to the live shows? Since the judges didn’t provide an answer (Howie Mandel simply told her it was “a big year”), we have to assume that too many singers had already advanced to the next round, which left little room for Callie. Give us your theories about why Callie was cut down in the comments section.

Jay Leno is the guest panellist on the fourth and final episode of “America’s Got Talent” devoted to judge cuts. This veteran late night talk show host took part in the pre-taped show that will air on Tuesday, August 6. You’ll see Jay give his opinion to the four “Agt” judges — Simon Cowell, Julianne Hough, Howie Mandel and Gabrielle Union — as they cut the field of 18 down to just seven acts who will perform in the quarter-finals that start next week.
As with the regular panellists, Jay also gets a Golden Buzzer. When he presses it one of these hopefuls will get sent straight through to the live shows.
