Lilly Wright is an actress and writer based in Chattanooga, TN. She was born into a large, impoverished family in a small Tennessee town at the base of the Appalachian mountains. Despite difficult beginnings, she always knew she had to follow her passion for acting and writing.
She spent her childhood writing stories, comics, and poetry. She also forced her younger siblings to perform plays and musicals to entertain her parents and relatives. She performed in every play and musical available to her in the public school system, and was a member of Thespian Troupe 505 in high school. During her senior year, she was chosen to perform a monologue on the MainStage at the southeastern Thespian Conference.
At 18, she was cast as Clara Banks in her first film project, the indie thriller feature, Fisher, as the starring role. She won multiple awards for her performance, including Best Actress at The Alternative Film Festival and Best Lead Actress at The American Golden Picture International Film Festival.
She went on to study acting, improv, voice, and movement under Sherry Landrum and Rex Knowles at a two year professional conservatory program in Chattanooga. Since then, she has appeared on stage as Jean Fordham in August: Osage County with the Chattanooga Theatre Center, and received critical praise for the performance. She has also done multiple film projects, with the latest being a co-star role in The Twelvemile, a feature coming to festivals and streaming soon. She has recently begun preparations for producing, directing, and starring in her first self written short film, Yellow, set to begin shooting within the year.
When she's not hustling in the arts, Wright pays the bills as a licensed nail technician. In her free time, she enjoys reading, being outdoors, playing the ukulele, and long boarding. She is also a proud member of the lgbtq+ community and wants to bring more wlw stories and characters to the screen. She has plans to relocate to Atlanta, Georgia in 2025, and can't wait to see what the future has in store for her.
