Timothy Hutton reportedly is filing suit against Leverage producer Electric Entertainment, alleging that they breached his contract by dropping him from IMDb TV’s Leverage: Redemption sequel series while he took legal action against a sexual assault allegation.

“Leverage” returned on Friday in the form of the eight-episode revival, “Leverage: Redemption,” on the streaming service IMDb TV. But Timothy Hutton, whose character Nate Ford served as the center of the original TNT series, does not appear on screen.
“Leverage,” which ran for five seasons on TNT between 2008 and 2012, starred Hutton as a former insurance investigator who becomes the leader of the Robin Hood-esque gang of criminals who steal from the corrupt and powerful to avenge their victims. The original series ended with Nate (Hutton) and his new fiancée Sophie (Gina Bellman) walking away from the criminal life for good, handing the keys to their organization over to the rest of the crew.
The decision to exclude Hutton from the revival came after the Oscar-winning actor was accused of rape last year by former child actress Sera Johnston. Johnston told Buzzfeed that Hutton and a friend raped her at...

The Leverage crew has reunited on IMDb TV, minus their longtime mastermind. What did the premiere reveal about what each team member has been up to? And how was “the very brilliant, very angry” Nate Ford written out?
The first of Leverage: Redemption‘s opening eight episodes (another eight arrive in the fall) picked up on the anniversary of Nate’s death, which his widow Sophie was dreading. She tried to fend off meeting up with the old gang at Nate’s grave, but proceeded. Afterward, at Sophie’s home, they toasted Nate — as Eliot for one put it, “He was self-righteous,...

It's a Boys Club, and Margaret is on the verge of being overthrown.
Bless their hearts, while the women on Filthy Rich Season 1 Episode 3 are engaged in a power battle that Rose rightfully pointed out was catty, the men are planning a coup d'état.
The Monreauxs are losing power over their own empire by the second, and all of them are none the wiser.
The scripture used for the title of the hour was Psalm 25:3. It reads, "No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame, but shame will come on those who are treacherous without cause."
And sure, it was meant to reference the Margaret and Ginger debacle, or it could have tied in with Antonio, his mother, and her rapid jealousy and greed. Not Jason is on the brink of exposure and so on and so forth.
But the attention-grabbing scripture of the hour...

Meet the Leverage team’s new full-time hacker. Aleyse Shannon (Charmed) is set as a new series regular in IMDb TV’s Leverage reboot, a new incarnation of the 2008 crime drama from Dean Devlin’s Electric Entertainment.
The Leverage sequel is a fresh update of the original concept, about reformed crooks using their unique skills to right corporate and governmental injustices inflicted on common citizens.
The reimagining will include new characters, including new lead Noah Wyle’s Harry and Shannon’s Breanna, along with returning original cast members Beth Riesgraf, reprising her character as “Parker”, Gina Bellman as “Sophie Devereaux”; Christian Kane as “Eliot Spencer” and Aldis Hodge as “Alec Hardison.”

The Leverage cast cannot “mask” their excitement, executive producer Dean Devlin jokes, in the latest Bts photo from IMDb TV’s revival/”re-imagining” of the caper drama.
The Og Leverage premiered in December 2008 and ran for five seasons on TNT. The revival brings back Beth Riesgraf (as Parker), Gina Bellman (as Sophie) and Christian Kane (as Eliot) — all as series regulars — while Aldis Hodge will recur as Hardison (due to his previous commitment to Season 2 of Showtime’s City on a Hill).

“Rule 34” of the Internet states: “If it exists, there is porn of it — no exceptions.” The PG-rated version might read: “If it exists, there is a Reddit or Tumblr group celebrating it.”
Thanks to MTV, now there is a web series celebrating it as well. “Owning It” explores a wide array of eccentric predilections and the young people who have found or started online communities around them. Looking at pockets of the internet like Reddit, Tumblr and other social platforms, “Owning It” captures trends like furries and real-life mermaids in a respectful and empathetic way. The docu-series mixes first person interview footage with surreal animation; the result is a succinct vlog profiling the trend, with an added bonus of trippy visuals.

When a show reaches its final season there is an inevitability that things could end badly, though if you really like the characters you hope now. With Leverage: Complete Season 5 you would hope that the shows light-hearted sense of humour would mean that everybody ends up safe, but when you get to the final episode this becomes very questionable, though I’m not going to spoil it in a review where I try to say why I liked it.
If you’ve watched any of the prior seasons you already know how Leverage works, but just as before the idea is that a group of criminals have been brought together to help the innocent fight against big companies who use unscrupulous means to get what they want. The Leverage team are there...

In the United Kingdom we had a show called Hustle. The basic concept was to take a group of grifters and each episode they would take part in some type of heist, when watching Leverage: Complete Season 4 which has just been released on DVD in the UK I can’t help but feel that it’s like Hustle meets the A-Team. Where Hustle focused more on the heist and making money, Leverage though looks to add a moral side to art of grifting giving the victims the “Leverage” to get revenge on the people who have wronged them.
Leverage works on a basic concept of setting up a bad guy, in this case they must always be rich and will have gained these riches in an unmoral way. Like in the A-Team...

"Leverage" has been canceled, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
It won't be a merry Christmas for fans of the TNT drama, since the intended Season 5 finale that will air on Tuesday, December 25 will now be the series finale.
Dean Devlin, executive producer of "Leverage," posted a message on LeverageFans.com, saying, "It has been decided today that this Tuesday’s episode of 'Leverage' 'The Long Goodbye Job' will be the series finale as TNT has decided not to renew the show for a sixth season." Singer and actress Willa Ford – seen in the above still brandishing a Molotov cocktail – has been making a reputation for herself by playing an escort on Starz’ Magic City and is continuing that ride by snagging a sweet guest starring role on TNT’s Leverage. Unfortunately, the role won’t be quite as colorful as a Molotov cocktail wielding person or a paid escort. Ford’s character on Leverage will be a mild mannered shop owner, doing what she can to keep her business alive and pay her bills. And since TNT is way more strict about its content when compared to Starz, Ford will have to remain fully clothed, despite being more comfortable with undressing for the camera.

Chicago – The game is on and the gang is back in TNT Network’s “Leverage,” premiering its fourth season on June 26th. Oscar winner Timothy Hutton is again ready to lead his team of con artists, grifters and hackers to stick it to the man.
Television Rating: 3.5/5.0
The chemistry of the team is rock solid as the new season unfolds. There is some rollover from season three, as former insurance investigator Nathan Ford (Hutton) continues to mentor his team of outside-the-law experts to bring down corrupt capitalists and other shady criminals. Having slept with team member and con artist Sophie (Gina Bellman), Ford must deal with that conflict of interest and his ongoing struggles with substance abuse.

TNT’s fun and smart con-man TV show Leverage returns to DVD on June 7 when Paramount Home Entertainment releases season three.
Described as a crime drama, the television series is really much more: action, romance, mystery and a splash of comedy. Timothy Hutton (Oscar winner for Ordinary People in 1980) stars as Nathan Ford, the leader of a group of grifters who use their talents to right wrongs. The group also includes Gina Bellman (British TV’s Coupling), Christian Kane (TV’s Close to Home), Beth Riesgraf and Aldis Hodge (TV’s Friday Night Lights). The third season also featured Jeri Ryan, who’s starring in the new ABC show Body of Proof, premiering next week.
In the 16 episodes included on the DVD, the team break Nate out of prison, expose a child slave-labor ring and infiltrate a Department of Defense research lab to stop international terrorists, among others.

There's no shortage of good people getting ripped off so Nathan Ford (Timothy Hutton) and his team of modern-day Robin Hoods have their work cut out for them once again. TNT has announced that Leverage is returning for its fourth season on Sunday, June 26th.
Starring Hutton, Gina Bellman, Aldis Hodge, Christian Kane, and Beth Riesgraf, Leverage began airing in December of 2008. The first episode attracted a 1.6 in the 18-49 demographic and 4.99 million viewers. The next episode dropped quite a bit but the season's average ratings were still high enough for TNT to invest in a second season of 15 episodes.
Season two averaged a 0.9 rating in the demo and 3.3 million viewers. It was renewed for a third season and those 16 episodes ended up averaging a 0.9 demo rating once again and 3.16 million viewers.

Leverage is set to return to our television screens on December 12th! Many Grifters (the name given to Leverage fans) have been anticipating this event as we may get answers about the mysterious Damien Moreau. In honor of the show's return, let's look back at three fan favorites from each of the seasons. So, yes, it's a Top Nine List!
Season One
"The Wedding Job" (1.07): When a man takes the fall for a mob boss, his family is promised money in compensation. Sadly, that never came to be and now the team must pose as wedding planners to provide some leverage to the situation. Aside from the fact that this episode introduces us to soon-to-be-favorites McSweeten and Taggart, we also get a glimpse at just how talented Eliot is in the kitchen. I love a man who knows his way around a meal.

.The rich and powerful take what they want,. explains a wind-whipped Nathan Ford in the title sequence of Leverage. .We steal it back for you.. It.s his need to punish corrupt wealthy folk that inspired ex-insurance man Ford (played by a nicely weathered Timothy Hutton) to gather up four talented crooks and persuade them to apply their talents to something soul-soothing: altruism. Though, not the charity dinner/sponsored mountain-climb-in-your-underwear kind.

It is time for "Leverage" fans to get to know the man who shaped Nathan Ford to be a good mastermind for his team. Jimmy Ford, Nate's father, will finally be presented on the show in person through "Brothers & Sisters" actor Tom Skerritt. The first look of him as the older but equally scheming Ford has been teased in a clip for the upcoming episode.
So far in the show's three seasons, Nate's father has only been told in stories. Nate once recalled his childhood experience with his dad at McRory's Pub in the second season episode called "The Bottle Job". It is known that his dad works as numbers runner in South Boston.
In the upcoming episode called "The Three-Card Monte Job", the team's investigation reveals an unlikely foe behind the scheme when innocent small businessmen are blackmailed into committing crimes. Nathan greets his father as the person behind their case.

TNT has a pretty good thing going for it with Leverage: a strong cast, a fun premise, and decent enough writing to make its weekly heist installments worth watching. It’s not the sharpest show out there, and it’s not above doing to audiences what many say Ocean’s 12 did by pulling a fast one with no way for the audience to see it coming. Through it all though, the show remains spunky and upbeat with enough of an overarching story to make it more than just a “caper of the week”.
For the first season of Leverage, TNT boasted, long and hard, about Timothy Hutton’s Academy Award-winning past to bolster the show with some level of credibility. He won the award back in 1980 as the Best Supporting Actor in Ordinary People, but to be fair that should have little to no effect on what you expect from his performance here.

Life is hard enough if you're a struggling actor. You have to scrape change out of other people's couch cushions for rent money. You live in an apartment that isn't fit for bacteria. Your parents pray for the day you wake up and realize you can have a much more fulfilling life as a sewer technician or a cat manicurist.
Now the networks are squeezing every buck that they can out of TV actors by a new process called "test deals."
Basically, the networks are getting their actors to agree to residual payments and checks before they even audition for a pilot or a new series. So now they have no leverage to negotiate a fair price. This is a great idea ... if the people getting paid were Goldman-Sachs employees. Somebody get Nathan Ford on the line!

My eyes have only seen a few episodes of 'Leverage,' and my brain is just now starting to understand its appeal. (My bodily organs don't work very well together. It's a long story. Words were said, tempers flared, pancreases made an off-color remark about someone else's mother. Enough said.)
Sure on the surface it appears to be a mid-adrenaline, action-adventure spy/mystery/crime show, but the season finale gave it an emotional depth and character progression that even most serious dramatic shows fail to accomplish. And it goes way beyond "not sucking."

No one makes for a better enemy than some kind of ruthless fashion designer. They are the epitome of bloodsucking evil. They want everything, produce nothing and expect to get even more than everything for even less. They are the real world equivalent of a James Bond villain, only not as tastefully dressed.
So it's a perfect way to reacquaint us with the wily antics of Nathan Ford and company as they permeate the seedy underbelly of the world's most powerful evil, even if the way they take them down does have a tiny number of noticeable holes.

Having never watched TNT’s Leverage before, I didn’t really know quite what to expect. On the surface, and from the promos I’ve seen, it looked to be a somewhat interesting story of a group of con artists, hackers, muscle men and a smarmy, intelligent leader who plan and execute elaborate cons to extract revenge for wrongdoings done to helpless individuals. Sort of like Mission Impossible meets Robin Hood or The A-Team.
Put that premise together with a cast which features some pretty good actors, including Angel alum Christian Kane and Academy Award winner Timothy Hutton, and you should have the makings of a pretty great hour of TV. With Leverage, you mostly do, with a few notable exceptions.
In the third season opener “The Runway Job,” Nathan Ford (Hutton) and his team are back in action. This time around they are taking down some ruthless evil people...
