Randy Cantor is a Grammy winning producer, studio musician, songwriter, arranger, synth programmer, engineer & mixer. Born & raised in Philly, where he played in the bars and clubs starting at 14. Eventually he walked into the world famous Sigma Sound Studios ( some of its clients included David Bowie, Stevie Wonder,O'Jays, Spinners, Gladys Knight, Dionne Warwick)
It's owner and founder Joe Tarsia, and several of the Gamble & Huff team of writers and producers fell in love with his keyboard playing and expertise in all things synthesizer. While keys are his main axe, Randy is a multi instrumentalist who plays guitar, bass, mandolin, dobro, lap steel, harmonica among others. Over the years he's worked with artists like 'Ricky Martin' . His arrangement of 'Living La Vida Loca' , which he played many of the instruments earned him a Grammy nomination for best arrangement accompanying a vocal. He's been one of superstar writer producer Desmond Child's go to guys since 1996. Some of the artists in his discography include Joan Jett, Stones, Aerosmith,Michael Bolton, Carrie Underwood, LeAnn Rimes, the Fugees, Lauren Hill, Cypress Hill, Sting, Vince Gill &Amy Grant, Foreigner, Lou Rawls, Grover Washington, Bon Jovi, Cinderella, Alejandra Guzman which won him a Latin Grammy for best female rock album. There's just too many artists to list here! Randy has also programmed sounds for Bob Moog including the Voyager signature model.
