After building off of years of contempt, Muhammad heads to the southern United States to confront a preacher who condoned the shooting of a mosque in which his mother was murdered. The two meet and Muhammad is able to convince the pastor to meet under the pretext of offering an interview, which will allow him to finally confront the figure that provided a hateful commentary to his tragic youth. However, as the two get to know each other and share their past experiences, they begin to reanalyze the situation.
“Muhammad Mercy” is a film that treads perilous ground, touching on various taboo subjects such as racial discrimination, terrorism, and religious prosecution. Essentially, the short film sets a minefield for itself to trip over and possibly send the wrong message, regardless of the creator’s intent. Thankfully, Argie Seth and crew approach the subject matter in a tactful way which does...

The success of our Submit Your Film Initiative was even more significant than we expected, since we received almost 100 applications from filmmakers all over the Asian world, in order to review their films for Asian Movie Pulse. Furthermore, and particularly regarding short films, we have started a cooperation with Vienna Shorts Festival, that will allow the films that we suggest to them to be submitted with a 70% price off (final submission fee would be just 3-5 euros depending on the film) and a chance to screen in Vienna during the festival.
In that regard, we would like to thank all the filmmakers who submitted their work and we hope that they continue to do so for many years to come.
At the same time, we also felt the need to celebrate this initiative by listing the movies we considered the best. Without further ado, here are the best #SubmitYourFilm Movies...

Two strangers in Lago and Miranda, meet one day on a bench in the park. However, as they begin to talk, the two seem oddly familiar with each other. Miranda later confronts Lago at work, where the two talk about their past tragedies that tied their fates together.
“Stranger Danger” acts as the ideal short film experience in multiple facets. Firstly, the script is concise and all the dialogue levity to the character’s plight. Although the dialogue is rather simple, the conclusion at the end of the production on how the two are tied together is well thought out. The build to the ending is handled well and the chance encounter at the start and end of the production compliments the idea of the two protagonists having a vague memory of each other, while still explaining the hate and regret that festered from their chance encounter. Also the film...
