“Before I left home, I had already made up in my mind, if Reba McEntire turns her chair, I am going to say Reba,” reveals Asher HaVon, who won Season 25 of “The Voice” on Tuesday night. The 31-year-old from Selma, Alabama defeated Josh Sanders, Bryan Olesen, Nathan Chester and Karen Waldrup in the finale, securing Reba her first victory as a coach. Watch Asher’s video interview with Gold Derby above.
Asher says working with Reba was “an out of body experience.” He explains, “I don’t think I’ve ever received so much encouragement and so much love and so much wisdom about this industry in my life. She literally saw me where I was, took me in, molded me and then sent me right back out. I was able to do exactly what I needed to do.”
After host Carson Daly announced Asher as the winner, Reba rushed the stage to join him.

“The Voice” has crowned the winner of its milestone 25th season.
After the five finalists took the stage one last time for the NBC competition show’s two-part finale, “The Voice” Season 25 crowned its winner as Asher HaVon from Team Reba, who took home the cash prize of $100,000 as well as a record deal with Universal Music Group.
HaVon was among the season’s Top 5 finalists, which also included Bryan Olesen (Team Legend), Josh Sanders (Team Reba), Karen Waldrup (Team Dan + Shay) and Nathan Chester (Team Legend).
Whereas coaches Dan + Shay, John Legend and Reba McEntire all had an artist — or two — in the finals, Chance the Rapper was the only coach without a team member in the finals after Team Chance members Maddi Jane and Serenity Arce were eliminated ahead of the finale.

Hey, "The Voice" fans. Tonight, May 7, 2024, another new episode of The Voice's current season 25 did indeed hit the air. Back and forth the axe swung in Tuesday’s episode of The Voice as the Top 12 were cut down to the Top 9 (presumably on our way to a victory by Team John Legend’s superlative Nathan Chester). Based on the poll that followed Monday’s recap, it looked like Tae Lewis (Team Dan + Shay), Nadège (Team Chance the Rapper), Serenity Arce (Team Chance) and L. Rodgers (Team Reba McEntire) would be singing for the Wildcard Instant Save. But was that how things actually shook out?

The Voice has always welcomed singers from across multiple genres, but some viewers think the current 25th season is starting to lean too heavily into country music. This rise in country music on the show could be explained by two of the coaches being country artists, including Reba McEntire, the Queen of Country, and country pop duo Dan + Shay. Hip-hop artist Chance the Rapper and R&b/soul singer John Legend fill the other two chairs. But it’s not just the coaches; this season has also seen an increase in auditionees focusing on country music, including the likes of Tae Lewis, Dani Stacy, Josh Sanders, Devon Sutterfield, Karen Waldrup, Rob Cole, and more. “Too much country on #TheVoice so far I know many enjoy it but I personally can’t tolerate it,” wrote one viewer on X (formerly Twitter). “The more country, the worse for the show. But...

Monday’s Season 25 premiere of The Voice answered a question that had been left dangling since it was announced that Dan + Shay would be joining returnees John Legend, Chance the Rapper and Reba McEntire on the coaching panel: Would four-chair turns still be called four-chair turns… or five-, since technically both Dan and Shay would have seats?
The answer — and maybe this was only of such keen interest to Voice recappers — was that four-chair turns would remain four-chair turns (perhaps since the new coaches’ dual seat swivels as one). And right off the bat, a four-chair turn was what we got.
