Konstantin Pivovar is a self-taught Belarusian writer-director based in Los Angeles and co-founder of Non-Syllabic Films. He is passionate about making one-of-a-kind movies that dive deep into psychological aspects - and he is particularly interested in exploring universal themes of individuality, truth, and meaning. Konstantin loves challenging himself to develop fresh ideas free from preconceived notions about genre, tone, or traditional filmmaking techniques. His previous short films (co-directed with Lilia Le Dieu) include a genre-bending "Iconic: a Four-Act Comedy," philosophical black-and-white drama "Breadcrumbs," a visual dream "My Train Leaves Tomorrow at 7", and existential "Paintless." He strives to take artistic risks and make bold choices.
Konstantin bases his storytelling on strong, authentic performances and always searches for highly skilled actors who want to play unique characters. He loves close collaboration and aspires to build a solid filmmaking family for a lifelong creative journey.
Konstantin was born and raised in Minsk, Belarus, where he developed an early interest in theater, stage acting, and classical literature. He lived in London and Warsaw before settling in Los Angeles.
