Stuck with You (Happy Nous Year) is a French movie directed by Frank Bellocq, starring Kev Adams and Camille Lellouche.
A movie that lasts no longer than an hour, bordering a short, which plays at going (slightly) beyond a simple premise, and where focus is placed squarely on the performances by Kev Adams and Camille Lellouche.
A romantic comedy with a quotidian take.
About the Movie
The simplicity of a short based on a classic idea that will definitely not be a blockbuster. If you have grown a bit tired of Avatar over this Christmas season, know that this film is far different to the mega-production: it has two characters who are trapped in an elevator, and end up sharing their stories and reliving them (flashbacks).
Everything rests on the performances, and that is where each must decide if they like it or not, depending on the lunar position in...

3B Productions, the French production outfit behind Hirokazu Kore-eda’s Venice opener “The Truth,” is developing the next films of Atiq Rahimi (“The Patience Stone”) and Karim Dridi (“Chouf”).
Rahimi, whose latest film “Notre-dame du Nil” will be world premiering at Toronto, is developing with Jean Brehat at 3B Productions and Ron Senkowski (“The Prophet”) the adaptation of “Les echelles du levan” (“Port of Calls”), a novel by French-Lebanese writer Amin Maalouf.
“I’ve always loved Amin Maalouf’s novels and I wanted to adapt one, so when Ron Senkowski proposed producing with him the adaptation of ‘Les echelles du levan,’ I didn’t hesitate,” said Brehat, adding that he thought of Rahimi to direct the film because he admires his books and the quality of the two films he’s helmed.
“Les échelles du levan” will reunite Rahimi with Golshifteh Farahani, who had starred in his 2012 film “The Patience Stone.

Weed and windmills. Pot and prostitutes. Ganja and gunfire. Rutger Hauer. If your film is called Gangsterdam, it's probably impossible to avoid any of the aforementioned without being accused of false advertising. But the use of hoary and facile clichés isn’t the only problem in Romain Levy’s French action-comedy, which casts local heartthrob Kev Adams as a student who ends up chasing after a packet of drugs in the Dutch capital in the hope of impressing a tough girl. As is unfortunately the case with a lot of France’s recent comedic output, homophobia and racism are the source of many of...

Marion Cotillard and her partner Guillaume Canet have reteamed to star in the film “Rock’n Roll.” This time the duo, who previously worked together on “Blood Ties” and “Little White Lies,” portray themselves in this meta showbiz comedy.
After Canet is told by a young co-star that he’s not “rock’n roll” enough and can’t sell films anymore, the actor then tries to prove her wrong by getting help from his wife and actress Marion Cotillard. The first trailer (via The Playlist) doesn’t include subtitles but it has enough fun scenes that show the actors in sticky situations, and helps you understand the narrative.

After working together on Little White Lies and Blood Ties, for the third time this decade Guillaume Canet has directed his partner Marion Cotillard. The film, titled Rock’n Roll, doesn’t have U.S. distribution yet, but it’ll arrive in France early next year and so it’s time for the first international trailer.
A drama with a meta spin, Canet and Cotillard play themselves, with the latter telling the former he’s not rock ‘n’ roll enough, so he “freaks out” and goes to learn from the French king of rock, Johnny Hallyday. While the first trailer is free of subtitles, one can see the meta elements at play with awards shows and studio back lots. Canet, whose last film was co-scripted by James Gray, hasn’t quite had the U.S break-out that some other French contemporaries have had, but hopefully this one gets some attention here.
