Now that Arrow‘s final handful of episodes to complete season 7 are in full swing, it’s hard not getting overly excited for what’s to come. After all, it was only earlier this week that we were treated to a Birds of Prey-inspired adventure in the form of “Lost Canary” that concluded with Earth-2’s Laurel Lance accepting her Earth-1 counterpart’s Black Canary costume – and let’s also not forget a certain major character from “Elseworlds” being spotted on the set of the finale.
As we move forward, expect for John Diggle to reassume the spotlight in the appropriately titled “Spartan.” Set to grace our screens next week, this will indeed be the episode featuring Ghostbusters‘ Ernie Hudson in a guest role. The name of his character had previously been under wraps though, and now we have a good idea as to why.

Despite the fact that Arrow will be reaching its conclusion next season, that doesn’t mean we can overlook what’s happening before then. Don’t forget, we still have five episodes remaining in the current season, and it’s around this time that the series normally kicks things into high gear.
Based on what we’ve just learned, the episode titled “Spartan” will be something no fan of the show will want to miss. Here, take a look at the official synopsis and then we’ll discuss it further:

After directing one Season 6 episode of The Walking Dead—and editing 12 episodes of the series—Avi Youabian was as hungry as a walker on a rampage to return to the director’s chair. Teaming with writer Nick Bernardone on AMC short-form seriesThe Walking Dead: Red Machete, Youabian found his opportunity. Consulting with executive producer Scott M. Gimple, the pair were tasked with creating a project that could add to the fabric of The Walking Dead universe, while functioning effectively as a standalone piece.
With this briefing from the Ep, Youabian and Bernardone laid down their own set of parameters, imposing further challenges upon themselves. With Red Machete, the pair crafted a narrative centering entirely on an inanimate protagonist: The blade of the series’ title, which would move from owner to owner, episode by episode, throughout The Walking Dead‘s post-apocalyptic landscape.

The Walking Dead, Season 6, Episode 5, “Now”
Written by Corey Reed
Directed by Avi Youabian
Airs Sundays at 9pm (Et) on AMC
After last week’s complex and meditative turn with “Here is Not Here,” we’re back to the chaos of the failed plot by Rick and co. to lead the massive herd of walkers away from Alexandria. While “Now” suffers from some flaws, it still ends up as entertaining and compelling filler. A lot of “Now” involves the Alexandrians playing a nice round of hindsight with one another. After spending a long time trying to perfect casseroles, reality pretty much came shambling at their door step, popping their bubble of comfort for better or worse.
Now that the raid has essentially failed and a good portion of Alexandria lies six feet under, the rest of the townies walk around “Now” displaying a keen sense of hindsight with one another.

The Walking Dead focuses on the Alexandrians and features two stand-out performances this week, leaving one big question mark hanging...
This review contains spoilers.
6.5 Now
I am going to confess something that I find a little bit shameful. I am having a lot of trouble remembering the names of all the characters from Alexandria. Some of them I remember; Aaron springs to mind pretty well, and Deanna is hard to forget thanks to her name being turned into a meme. However, when it comes to the rank and file, I'm hard pressed to keep track of anyone else. I'm aware that Carl's little frenemy is Ron, but it takes some digging despite being the best name anyone could ever have. Most of the others are boiled down to simple descriptions: the doctor girl, the pantry lady, that balding guy, Alexandra Breckenridge...
I'm not sure if the issue...

Here's episode 2 of Orlando Jones' new digital series airing exclusively on the popular Machinima Prime channel on YouTube. Titled Tainted Love, here's a description again of the graphic novel style action comedy, created by Jones himself, if you're new here: A fast-paced and visceral story of true love against all odds focusing on two expectant parents; one a quick-witted hitman/bagman and the other a well-intended yet hopelessly inept thief. Black Barry will stop at nothing to protect Jezebel from his insanely vengeful boss Fred Lucas after a lapse in judgment causes Jezebel to rob Lucas, and the bodies start to pile up. We, the astute genre fans, already know that Brad Anderson can do horror (Session 9), psychological thrillers (The Machinist), and ice-cold train-related chillers (Transsiberian), but how well would the filmmaker fare as a simple "hired gun" for a big star and a gimmicky screenplay? If the new kidnapping thriller The Call is any indication, he'd do a rather fine job of minimizing the cliches, focusing on the cleverest moments, and delivering a simple suspense flick that might be obvious and entirely predictable -- but is still quite a bit of fun all the same. In the hands of a lazier or less talented filmmaker, The Call could hit the screen feeling like a dreary pilot episode of a very uninteresting TV series.
Fortunately for all involved, Anderson manages to bring a lot of class and energy to the material.
Halle Berry plays a 911 operator who "loses" a caller during a horrific break-in.
