Michael has appeared in over one hundred plays, playing such diverse
parts as Faust, Oedipus, Petruchio in The Taming Of The Shrew, Big
Daddy in Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, Joe Keller in All My Sons, Francis
Hardy in Brian Friel's Faith Healer, Hans Kohlhaas in the James
Saunders play of the same name, Iago in Othello, Eddie Carbone in View
From The Bridge, Danforth in The Crucible, Captain Shotover in
Heartbreak House, Walter Burns in The Front Page, Gerardo in Death And
The Maiden, Sherlock Holmes in The Real Death Of Sherlock Holmes and
General St Pe in The Waltz Of The Toreadors. Most recently he has
played Helge in David Eldridge's Festen, Dorn in The Seagull and Dr
Hyman in Arthur Miller's Broken Glass. Mike has worked with many
notable Directors such as, Alan Clarke, Ken Ives, Craig Griffith, Carol
Wiseman, Miles Brown, George Mulley, Mike Custance and Cecil Hayter. In
addition to acting Michael has also directed, Privates On Parade,
Noises Off, Lady Betty, The Crucible, Pack Of Lies, The Hired Man and
David Edgar's two part adaptation of The Life And Adventures Of
Nicholas Nickleby. Most recently Mike has directed Declan Donnellan's
thrilling adaptation of Great Expectations and Stephen Sondheim's
Sweeney Todd.
