Born and raised in Tacoma, Washington, Stas THEE Boss is a versatile vocalist, producer, and DJ with a passion for creating eclectic and boundary-pushing music.
Having joined forces with Cat Harris-White to form the astral jazz hop duo, THEESatisfaction in 2009, Stas THEE Boss played an integral role in the group's success, contributing her skills in production, songwriting, and captivating performances. The duo's talent caught the attention of Sub Pop Records, leading to a signing in 2011 and the subsequent release of two acclaimed albums.
Throughout her career, Stas THEE Boss has taken her captivating sound across the United States and around the world, gracing stages in France, the UK, Australia, China, Mexico, Iceland, and beyond. Sharing her music with diverse audiences, she has had the privilege of touring alongside renowned artists such as Erykah Badu, Little Dragon, Shabazz Palaces, and Sleater-Kinney.
In 2016, She embarked on a new chapter, transitioning to radio and making history as the first woman to host Seattle's longest running hip hop show, Street Sounds on KEXP. This endeavor allowed her to share her passion for music and contribute to the thriving hip hop scene.
As a solo artist, She has released a string of impressive digital projects, including "Stas For Hire," "S'women," "Voices," "On The Quarner," and "Sang Stasia!." Her unique sound has garnered attention and critical acclaim, leading to the release of "S'women" and "On The Quarner" on vinyl through Crane City Records.
Continuing to push artistic boundaries, Stas THEE Boss has collaborated with notable artists such as Kassa Overall, Ya Tseen, Nappy Nina, Jarv Dee, Shabazz Palaces and Jacuzzi Jefferson. She is an esteemed member of LucidHaus Records, Black Constellation, and the Sway & Swoon DJ Collective, amplifying her creative presence within influential musical circles.
In addition to her music career, She has also showcased her versatility as a music supervisor. Her expertise was instrumental in curating the sound for the 2023 short film "Saint Neon," directed by P. Carter.
