After Arizona GOP Chairman Jeff DeWitt stepped down after an audio recording of him attempting to bribe GOP Senate candidate Kari Lake was leaked online, the state Republican party is in chaos.
In the audio, DeWit told Lake that he was asked by incredibly powerful people from “back east” whether their companies could put her on their payroll and prevent her from running for GOP Senate this year.
“Is there a number at which… ” DeWit asked her.
“I can be bought,” Lake interrupted.
“Not be bought,” the former Arizona GOP chairman replied.
“That’s what it’s about,” Lake then stated.
“You can take a pause for a couple of years,” DeWit told her.
“No,” she responded.
“Then go right back to what you’re doing,” DeWit continued.
“Mmm-mm.” she stated. “No.”
“$10 million, $20 million, $30, no, $1 billion, no,” Lake added. “This is not about money, this is about our country.”

Things are going from bad to worse for Night Court‘s Abby. Like, “charged with a felony” worse.
TVLine has an exclusive sneak peek at Tuesday’s season finale (NBC, 8/7c), which finds Dan bailing Abby out of jail after she was arrested for helping that old lady Louise bust her boyfriend out of his retirement home. She only spent one night behind bars, but Abby came out of there with a tattoo… well, a temporary one, anyway. Still, it’s “somehow already super infected,” she complains.

It took months, but Night Court Season 1 Episode 12 finally switched on a plot device light bulb for me.
Abby's Upstate stories are an updated version of Rose Nylund's St. Olaf tales on Golden Girls. Or Sophia's Sicilian parables. If a show's going to borrow sitcom elements, the Og Gg is one of the best to lean into. (It doesn't hurt that it's also an NBC IP.)
Like Rose and Sophia, Abby's more canny than she lets on, and when she decides to rewrite the rules of engagement, old-school sharks like DeWitt show their toothless tactics are relics of a sad and shameful time.
That's not to say young sharks aren't eager to circle the waters.
Up until the final scenes, Olivia's rabid for a taste of the upper echelon of legal hobnobbing.
She ruthlessly cashes in on Abby's interest in spending some off-hours time with her to get into the club,...

We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, we’re lobbing queries left and right about lotsa shows including The Conners, Magnum P.I., The Last of Us and The Way Home!
1 | Couldn’t/shouldn’t The Last of Us at least played a little with hair/stubble lengths coming out of a three-month time jump? Or is Joel traveling with a Braun beard trimmer and mirror?
