The first live-action cinematic adaptation of Spider-Man by Sam Raimi, featuring Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst in the lead roles, became an instant fan-favorite film. The film enjoyed humongous success at the box office, receiving a trilogy and elevating itself to the status of a cult classic.

The film still stands as a pioneer of the Spider-Man franchise, and everyone would love to see the cast return to reprise their iconic roles. Fans adored Dunst’s portrayal of Mary Jane Watson, making her one of the primary reasons the trilogy became so memorable.
As a result, she has become one of the most recognized faces in the world. Consequently, fans were not entertained at the 94th Academy Awards when Amy Schumer called her a seat filler in a risky segment that incited a backlash from fans on social media.

Nick Spencer's Amazing Spider-Man run was derailed by editorial interference, while Zeb Wells' stint has divided opinions for its portrayal of Peter Parker's relationship with Mary Jane Watson.
Not helping matters was the fact Spencer's time on the title concluded with Peter getting ready to pop the question to Mj, only for Marvel Comics to decide once again that they needed to be kept apart. To facilitate that, Wells sent Mj to a parallel dimension and brought her back with a new love interest, Paul.
It was recently confirmed that the Deadpool & Wolverine scribe's time writing Amazing Spider-Man will conclude with a story arc kicking off in September; now, a poster sent out to retailers confirms that Joe Kelly has been tapped as the next writer to take over the long-running comic book series.

Kirsten Dunst is widely recognized for her role as Mary Jane Watson in the Spider-Man movies, but the actress has evolved since departing from the franchise and has been taking roles that would exhibit her range and skills.

Taking charge of Amazing Spider-Man is no easy task for any writer. It's Marvel Comics' most popular title with a legion of passionate fans who have certain expectations for the web-slinger on the page.
Zeb Wells and John Romita Jr. took the reins of the series in 2022 and, along with several guest artists, have delivered more than 50 issues as we write this.
Marvel Comics stepped in and made major changes to previous writer Nick Spencer's plans for Amazing Spider-Man, undoing what looked like the restoration of Peter Parker's marriage to Mary Jane Watson. In Wells' run, Mj was left stranded in the future and came back with a new boyfriend and two children, ending any hope of her and the web-slinger reigniting their lost romance.
Other noteworthy stories have included Spidey's rivalry with Tombstone, the Hobgoblin's return, Peter working alongside Norman Osborn at Oscorp, Ben Reilly's transformation into the villainous Chasm,...

Twenty years ago, Spider-Man 2 boiled down the basic appeal of the Web-Head in movie form. Peter Parker is the guy for whom wearing a mask and fighting crime is a noble duty, sure, but it’s also sometimes just a job—one complete with busy work, tedium, and 99 problems that distract from the other important things in life. In Peter’s case that’s studying for midterms, hanging out with his best buddy Harry Osborn, and, dare he dream, making it to Mary Jane Watson’s play on time.
In the two decades since the movie’s release, there have been plenty of other Spider-Man pictures. Some have been good, some amazing (looking at you Spider-Verse!), and more than a few that left you wanting. None of them though have been able to so succinctly tap into the appeal of those earliest comic book runs that defined the character...

Considering Marvel and DC’s vast universe, there are several characters who are yet to make onscreen appearances. But among the few who made their way to the silver screen and TV shows, Spider-Man became the most renowned and appreciated superhero. Thus, when the character first appeared onscreen under Sam Raimi’s direction, several actors tried their luck during auditions.

One among the crowd of A-listers who hoped to crack the audition for a leading role in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man was legendary actress Elizabeth Banks. According to reports, Banks auditioned to play Mary Jane Watson in the original Spider-Man movie. Marvel fans were in for a surprise when they sat down for the X-Men ’97 Season finale. While they expected a Spider-Man cameo in the film, they never expected to get an answer to the biggest cliffhanger of the ’90s. It was revealed that Peter Parker had finally found Mary Jane, a storyline from the 1994 animated series Spider-Man that never saw the light of day.

The big reveal also made fans question whether a Spider-Man ’97 (or is it ’98) revival is in the books for Marvel Studios Animation. Brad Winderbaum, the Head of Animation, has an answer that may not fully satisfy the Spider-Man fans.

In the first chapter of X-Men '97's epic three-part "Tolerance Is Extinction" finale, we were reunited with the wall-crawler from Spider-Man: The Animated Series. The show ran from 1994 to 1998, and wrapped up on an open-ended note, so just seeing him again felt like a very big deal.
However, the finale brought an even bigger surprise when we learned that Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson had been reunited. Needless to say, none of us expected X-Men '97 to resolve a decades-old cliffhanger, but we now know the hero managed to track her down after she was lost in the Multiverse.
In an interview with Screen Rant (via Toonado.com), Marvel Studios Head of TV, Streaming, and Animation, Brad Winderbaum touched on the excitement surrounding a moment many fans hope is setting the stage for a Spider-Man '98 revival on Disney+.

In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter Parker turned to Doctor Strange for help after Mysterio revealed his secret identity to the world. The former Sorcerer Supreme was more than willing to lend a helping hand, only for his spell to quickly go wrong.
That was because Peter tried making a series of changes to the incantation, ensuring his friends and family would remember the fact they'd learned his identities.
With a host of villainous Variants subsequently pulled into Earth-616, Spidey was outmatched until he got a helping hand from his Friendly Neighbourhood and Amazing counterparts.
Despite managing to "cure" those supervillains, reality started tearing apart and Peter had to get Strange to finish the spell...with everyone forgetting the fact he, not Spider-Man, exists.
Now, a new rumour suggests Strange's spell had far-reaching consequences.
According to leaker @MyTimeToShineH, everyone on Peter #2 (Tobey Maguire) and Peter #3's (Andrew Garfield) worlds also forget them.

The live-action adaptation of Spider-Man Noir is coming to Prime Video, and Nicolas Cage will reprise his role as the alternate version of the Friendly Neighbourhood superhero.
It was in 2009 when Marvel Comics started creating a line of Marvel Noir comics that included Spider-Man Noir.
Unlike regular Marvel comics, the noir line takes place in an alternate universe where stories of familiar Marvel characters are reinterpreted to feature a hardboiled / crime noir atmosphere set during the Great Depression era in the US.
Here are the Spider-Man Noir comics you should read, created by David Hine and Fabrice Sapolsky, alongside artists Carmine Di Giandomenico (who drew the first stories) and Marko Djurdjević (costume designer).

The idea of bringing back a beloved '90s cartoon like "X-Men: The Animated Series" after 30 years sounds quite like a cash grab meant to exploit nostalgic grown-up fans, but it quickly became clear "X-Men '97" was more than the nostalgia-bait the premiere led us to believe.
Indeed, this is a thoughtful follow-up to the already exquisite '90s show, one that takes advantage of the streaming era's embrace of serialization and grittier stories to deliver a bleak yet still hopeful story about loss, grief, and family. In the many Spider-Man films that have come out over the years, there is one that would take the award for being the most emotional. Andrew Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 absolutely wrecked fans of the character. On top of the exceptional acting, cast, and storyline, the final act of the movie was emotional, to say the least.

(Welcome to Tales from the Box Office, our column that examines box office miracles, disasters, and everything in between, as well as what we can learn from them.)
"We do very much have the ambition about creating a bigger universe around Spider-Man." These were the words uttered by former Sony Pictures Entertainment chief Michael Lynton after an investor meeting in November 2013. Those words would become the undoing of the franchise solely under Sony's stewardship, with 2014's "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" serving as the nail in the coffin. With the benefit of hindsight, we might be looking at the most outright financially successful franchise-killer in cinema history.
The Andrew Garfield-led "Spider-Man" films remain a tragic mixed bag. There are those who adore Garfield as Marvel's famed webslinger. There are many others who can't get past the messy direction the films themselves wandered down -- particularly this sequel we're talking about today.

Kirsten Dunst has grown up on-screen. From her big break as precocious baby vampire Claudia in 1994’s Interview with the Vampire,in which she stole scenes from no less than Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise, she’s been an emblem of her era of popular culture — and shaped it, too. Her portrayals of languid Lux Lisbon in Sofia Coppola’s The Virgin Suicides and “cheer-tator” Torrance Shipman in 2000’s Bring It On are indelible portrayals of the inner lives of teenage girls. As Mary Jane Watson in Spider-Man, she helped usher in our obsession with superheroes. And where would millennial pink be without Marie Antoinette?

Spider-Man 3 became the latest movie featuring the web-slinger to return to theaters yesterday evening. Sony Pictures' "Spider-Mondays" are part of the studio's 100th-anniversary celebrations, giving fans the chance to experience Spidey's adventures on the big screen either again or for the first time.
While Spider-Man 3 is typically considered the worst of Sam Raimi's trilogy, it swung to an impressive $760,000 at the U.S. box office yesterday in just 466 venues.
To compare, Spider-Man opened to $680,000 in 466 U.S. theaters two weeks ago and the classic Spider-Man 2 made $805,000 in 467 of them. The sequel taking the top spot isn't a surprise, but Spider-Man 3 clearly has more fans than we realised.
The movie had the biggest per theater average with $1,600, beating even new releases.
Spider-Man 3 was originally released in 2007 and starred Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, alongside Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson, James Franco as Harry Osborn/New Goblin,...

If there’s one hero comic book writers love to torment the most, it has to be the friendly neighborhood superhero Spider-Man. There’s barely anyone else who is down on their luck more often than the web-crawler, and still, he manages to smile and keeps going on.
However, there are times when even the most hopeful of Marvel heroes can get crushed to the point where he loses his mind, and that is one of the possibilities that can be adapted by Sam Raimi, if he ever returns for Spider-Man 4.

Especially after the multiverse saga, the possibility of adapting an alternate universe story from some of the darker versions of Spider-Man is very real. And given Raimi’s expertise in dealing with horror and dystopia, it can turn out to be really good!

This article will contain some spoilers for Challengers, so reader beware if you haven’t seen Luca Guadagnino’s new film…
Tennis isn’t for everyone – some people just want their Spidey fix. That’s what happens in one scene of Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers, where the daughter of Tashi (Zendaya) and Art (Mike Faist) asks to watch a Spider-Verse movie instead of tennis. But as the director explains, it wasn’t meant to be directly linked to Zendaya’s own Spider-Man movies.
As Guadagnino told Entertainment Weekly, those thinking that Spider-Verse moment in Challengers was an intentional easter egg are mistaken, as it was really just out of circumstances. “When you get rights for something to be used in a movie, it’s very complicated. Amy Pascal, our amazing producer, was of help there. I said, ‘Amy, can we use one of your catalog titles so it’s going...

Tom Holland is the current face of Spider-Man, although he stands on the shoulders of others who came before him, including Tobey Maguire. The actor is an integral part of the MCU, and he quickly became a favorite among comic book lovers. His natural athleticism allows him to pull off stunts very easily.
However, before Holland, Maguire performed his own stunts too. Back when he played the webbed superhero in Sam Raimi’s films, the actor filmed some of the most jaw-dropping scenes ever seen on the big screen. The BTS footage shows the work Maguire put in to execute them to perfection.

Fans may be anticipating James Gunn’s take on the Superman movie, but there’s another show that definitely puts a lot of twist in it, and that’s My Adventures with Superman animated series. The shonen anime-inspired project sees Clark Kent, voiced by Jack Quaid, as he juggles life as a superhero and his work at the Daily Planet.
My Adventures With Superman
Many hated the show, particularly Lois Lane’s portrayal, but executive producer Jake Wyatt thinks she’s “the Batman” in her relationship with Kent. What’s the deal with Lane, and why is everyone hating on her?

In an interview with Comicsbeat, executive producers Jake Wyatt and Josie Campbell talked about Lois Lane in My Adventures with Superman. The latter claimed they pitched it as a rom-com with punching, and they also watched the ‘70s Superman film.

Even Mary Jane wonders if we really need to revisit Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man universe. Kirsten Dunst is worried about messing with a good thing.
During an interview with IndieWire, the Civil War actress was questioned about returning to the world where Tobey Maguire was Peter Parker. The former Mary Jane Watson wasn’t too hot on the idea, asking, “Honestly, do we need it?”
She’s right. Considering the cinema is choked with remakes, reboots, and readapting adaptations of other people’s adaptations, do we need to revisit Raimi’s films after nearly two decades?
However, superfans of the 2000s Spider-Man trilogy could find a glimmer of hope in Dunst’s comments. She may be back if everything falls into place:
“I don’t think we need that. I don’t know. It was so long ago. I just don’t know how they would, what the story would be.

Actress Kristen Dunst is all set to return to the big screen with Alex Garland’s dystopian war drama Civil War. The actress has been making the rounds on the Internet due to her honest and matter-of-fact tone of answering questions during the press tour, where she has been lauded for having these qualities that are rarely seen during interviews.
Dunst gained worldwide fame for her role as Mary Jane Watson in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy. She shared screen space with Tobey Maguire, who played Peter Parker a.k.a Spider-Man in the acclaimed trilogy. While fans are excited for another Spider-Man film from Raimi and Maguire ever since their return to the MCU, Dunst reportedly opined that good things need to be left alone.

The animated series based on Marvel Comics superhero Spider-Man, Spider-Man: The Animated Series, produced and written by John Semper, aired on the Fox Kids Network from 1994 to 1998. The five-season animated series concluded with the introduction of the Spider-Verse storyline, which went on to inspire similar narratives in various Spider-Man comic books, cartoons, and movies.
Christopher Daniel Barnes voiced the character of Peter Parker, a.k.a., Spider-Man, in the series. The animated series is regarded as one of the greatest animated series made for Spider-Man. John Semper served as the head writer of the series, and in his interview, he explained the arc of Mary Jane Watson falling off the bridge and coming back later as a clone.

Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man ushered in an age of popularity for comic book movies that had never been seen on screen before. Helmed by Sam Raimi, with Kirsten Dunst playing Mary Jane Watson opposite Maguire’s Peter Parker, the film was an unprecedented hit. The film’s success meant that the studio immediately greenlit a sequel.
The leading actors returned to reprise their roles, and it also saw Maguire’s demand rise, since it had boosted his fame. Unsurprisingly, there was a pretty significant difference in the salaries of both protagonists. It is not far-fetched to believe he also pocketed a hefty check to star in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Hollywood casting can be a fickle thing. But for actresses who’ve graced the silver screen as Spider-Man’s love interest, there seems to be a recurring theme – a hidden talent for tennis!
A still from Spider-Man
Believe it or not, all three actresses—Kirsten Dunst, Emma Stone, and Zendaya—who have portrayed Spider-Man’s love interest on the big screen share a surprising connection to the world of tennis.
It’s not merely a coincidence; each of them has actually portrayed a tennis player in different movies, following their roles in Spider-Man flicks.

Kirsten Dunst would’ve liked to have been part of Spider-Man: No Way Home had she been asked to reprise her role of Mary Jane Watson.
In a new interview, Dunst revealed she would have agreed to have been part of the MCU that saw Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield reprise their Pater Parker roles alongside current Spider-Man Tom Holland.
“No, no. I would have,” Dunst told British GQ after they asked if anyone had reached out to reprise her role.
Although Dunst says she has not seen the 2021 film directed by Jon Watts, she says it would’ve been interesting to see her Mary Jane and Maguire’s Peter Parker reuniting.
“It would be funny to be like, Ok, let’s take Tobey [Maguire] and I and do it in a weird indie way where it’s like a different kind of superhero film,” she said. “Like how they did that movie Chronicle.

With such a long and illustrious history of working in the film industry, Kirsten Dunst has witnessed a tremendous amount of success in Hollywood, most popularly solidifying her legacy by playing the role of Mary Jane Watson in Sam Raimi’s original Spider-Man trilogy.
But in recent history, it seems like the actress has only been working with filmmakers of the industry who are masters of their craft in the art of filmmaking and no one else.

Rumors always seem to be swirling on social media that Sam Raimi is going to reunite with Tobey Maguire and direct a fourth “Spider-Man” movie. The duo jump-started a blockbuster age for comic book movies with 2002’s “Spider-Man” and delivered the genre one of its most acclaimed entries with 2004’s “Spider-Man 2.” Although 2007’s “Spider-Man 3” wasn’t a hit with critics, it still pulled in $895 million worldwide to become Raimi and Maguire’s biggest entry.
There was a time when Raimi was developing a “Spider-Man 4” at Sony, with Tobey Maguire back in the title role. The project was ultimately scrapped in favor of rebooting the web-slinger on the big screen with Andrew Garfield. Ever since Maguire returned to his Spider-Man role in 2021’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” comic book movie fans have been clamoring for a proper “Spider-Man 4” from Raimi and his star.

When we think of the greatest kisses in movie history, there are some genuine classics that come to mind: Lady and the Tramp smooching via spaghetti, Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr embracing on the beach in From Here to Eternity, Michael Corleone sealing brother Fredo’s fate in The Godfather Part II…And up there with all of these is the upside down kiss from 2002’s Spider-Man, in which Kirsten Dunst’s Mary Jane peels up her hero’s mask and plants one in a New York downpour. And as immediately iconic as it was, the scene was something of a pain to shoot.
As Dunst recalled of the famous Spider-Man scene, “I remember Sam Raimi giving me a book of famous kisses to be inspired but also he really wanted to make it special even though it was kind of miserable actually doing it…It was pouring with rain,...

Kirsten Dunst may have been one-half of the most iconic onscreen kisses in cinematic history, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t a “miserable” experience for the actress.
Dunst starred as Mary-Jane Watson in Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man” trilogy from 2002 to 2007. Kirsten Dunst and Tobey Maguire delivered one of the most iconic movie kisses of the 21st century in 2002’s “Spider-Man,” but it was “kind of miserable” to shoot. Dunst is the latest guest on “The Jonathan Ross Show” (via The Independent) ahead of the release of her new movie “Civil War,” and she remembered how not ideal it was to kiss Maguire in the pouring rain while he was upside down as Spider-Man.
“I remember [the film’s director] Sam Raimi giving me a book of famous kisses to be inspired but also he really wanted to make it special even though it was kind of miserable actually doing it,” Dunst recalled.
“It was pouring with rain, freezing, Tobey couldn’t breathe so it was almost like I was resuscitating him,” she added.

With a meteoric rise at a young age, Zendaya has transitioned from a Disney royalty to the youngest Emmy-awarding winning actress in history for Euphoria. Her stardom reached a new level when she became part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where she portrays the role of Mj in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man films. The actress surprised the whole Marvel fandom with her enigmatic presence, and instead of playing the traditional damsel in distress, she imbued her spicy personality to the character, making the viewers her fans.

However, prior to her debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans were skeptical of her casting, questioning her appointment behind such a pivotal role. Soon, a controversy erupted on social media until the Euphoria actress decided to silence a toxic fan over her casting.

The famous upside-down kiss between Spider-Man and Mary Jane has endured for years, and fans still can’t get over it. The scene in which Kirsten Dunst’s Mary Jane Watson kisses Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker while he hangs upside down is unforgettable and romantic at the same time. What many fans may not realize is that filming that iconic scene wasn’t quite as idyllic as it appeared on screen.
No matter how many Spider-Man flicks have come and gone, the scene has never attempted to be replicated. Dunst played Peter’s love interest in all three of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy films, which were released between 2002 and 2007.

Add Kristen Stewart to the list of actors you won’t see in a Marvel movie anytime soon.
“I will likely never do a Marvel movie … it sounds like a f*cking nightmare, actually,” Stewart said Tuesday on the Not Skinny, But Not Fat podcast. She is not alone.
Last Month, Ray Winstone said he almost quit Marvel’s Black Widow because it was such a hassle.
“It was fine until you have to do the reshoots,” said Winstone. “Then you find out that a few producers have come down, and your performance is too much, it’s too strong…That’s the way Marvel works. It can be soul-destroying, because you feel like you’re doing great work.”
Nicolas Cage also recently expressed his reluctance to return to comic-book fare.

Don’t expect to see Kristen Stewart in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although the actor is no stranger to big budget Hollywood tentpoles, from the “Twilight” movies to “Snow White and the Huntsman,” she recently said on the “Not Skinny but Not Fat” podcast that the studio system would have to dramatically change in order for her to sign on to a Marvel tentpole. That, or Greta Gerwig would have to be directing.
“I will likely never do a Marvel movie … it sounds like a fucking nightmare, actually,” Stewart said, noting that she does like making “big movies because I like people to watch them when I’m in them.”
Podcast host Amanda Hirsch said that Stewart could’ve maybe played a version of Spider-Man’s love interest Mary Jane Watson at one point in her career, but the actor said “the system would have to change” in order for...

Academy Award-nominated actress Kirsten Dunst began her acting career at age 3 in television commercials. Although she made her feature film debut in 1998 at age 5, her breakout performance came six years later, playing the young vampire child Claudia in Interview with the Vampire (1994). However, it wasn’t until she portrayed Mary Jane Watson in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy films (2002-2007) that she attained international recognition and stardom. Each movie in the series was a commercial success, with a combined Box Office earnings of over $2.5 billion. With its success, Dunst was one of Hollywood’s hottest and most successful

Kirsten Dunst is looking back at her time on the Spider-Man set, wishing she would’ve stood up for herself.
The actress that starred as Mary Jane Watson in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy starting in 2002, had a nickname on the set that she was not fond of. Dunst was referred to as “girly-girl,” and that’s how she was referred to throughout the filming of the trilogy.
“It was a joke, but on Spider-Man, they would call me ‘girly-girl’ sometimes on the walkie-talkie,” Dunst said in an interview with Marie Claire. “But I never said anything … Like, don’t call me that.”
Before the #MeToo movement in 2017, one of the unspoken rules in Hollywood was that young women kept quiet, with Dunst saying, “You didn’t say anything. You just took it.”
Dunst also talked about the roles being offered to her after starring in Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog,...

Kirsten Dunst is opening up about ageism in Hollywood and why she hasn’t been working as much lately.
In a cover story for Marie Claire as part of its 2024 Makers Issue, the Oscar-nominated actress explained that following her role in 2021’s The Power of the Dog, she was only being offered one kind of role: “the sad mom.”
So, instead of taking on any project, Dunst stepped back from acting for two years after the Jane Campion film because she wasn’t being offered the meaty roles she wanted, which she could get lost in and felt were worth her time.
“To be honest, that’s been hard for me … because I need to feed myself,” she told the publication of not working for two years. “The hardest thing is being a mom and … not feeling like, I have nothing for myself. That’s every mother — not just me.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was a massive hit for PlayStation and continues to impress fans with the bizarre introduction of Scream in the video game series.
Spoilers ahead for the sequel.
The highly anticipated sequel had big shoes to fill given the original game’s success, and the spinoff title, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, highlights the journey of the young webslinger into becoming a fully realized Spider-Man. Fans have theorized and speculated about the possible new villains that would be introduced to the series, and Scream was a welcome surprise.
Creatively deviating from the original source material, which is a prevalent practice in other superhero adaptations, Mary Jane Watson became the host for this version’s Scream. In an intense face-off at the Parker residence, Harry Osborn now bonded with Venom means to eliminate Spider-Man and lured him by threatening the life of Mj.

As movies and TV shows have become the dominant mode of superhero storytelling, some comic writers have crossed mediums with the characters they pen. Allan Heinberg wrote a brief run on "Wonder Woman" and years later wrote the screenplay for the 2017 "Wonder Woman" movie. Brian Michael Bendis, the defining Marvel Comics writer of the 2000s, sat on Marvel Studios' now-disbanded "creative committee." James Gunn, as the co-head of DC Studios, has brought writer Tom King into the fold.
"Deadpool & Wolverine," which brings the 20th Century Fox side of Marvel into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is the latest example of this; one of the movie's five credited co-writers is Zeb Wells, who also wrote an episode of "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law." For some Marvel Comic fans, however, his name lives in infamy.
Now, Wells' "X-Men" related work is well-regarded. The 18-issue series "Hellions" was like a mutant version of "Suicide Squad...

MCU has several movies on its upcoming slate, and besides ‘Deadpool 3’ which is currently the most anticipated movie, the ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot is easily the second most talked about project.
Marvel’s first family will finally join the MCU, and all eyes are turned in the direction of Shankman, who took over the director’s role from Watts. We’re truly hoping that the original series won’t repeat itself.
The casting for ‘Fantastic Four’ is still under wraps. Many names have been thrown around, and a lot of fans were confused about the fact that Krasinski apparently won’t reprise his role as Reed Richards despite fans considering him a perfect cast. Some other names that have been thrown around regarding Reed are Adam Driver and, most recently, Jake Gyllenhaal, who is rumored to be the first choice.

Oh what a tangled web we weave when the multiverse becomes part of Spider-Man canon. The Spider-Man film franchise started simply enough, with 2002’s “Spider-Man.” Fast forward 20 years and three different actors have played live-action versions of the Wall Crawler, with the trio joining forces in 2021’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”
The most recent Spidey flick wasn’t just a fun family reunion. It also led to Marvel verifying the existence of the multiverse in its live-action productions. As the former Sorcerer Supreme Doctor Strange says in the film, “The multiverse is a concept about which we know frighteningly little.”
While the establishment of the multiverse has a still yet-to-be-determined impact on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in the present it can make watching Spider-Man movies in order a little complicated.

“Anyone can be Spider-Man.”
That sentiment, often attributed to creator Stan Lee in some form, has always been the core of what makes the character — perhaps the world’s most famous superhero — so accessible. It’s the idea that, by donning the mask, anyone could step up and be Spider-Man, regardless of their race or gender. It became the central thesis for the excellent 2018 film Into the Spider-Verse, which widely popularized not just Miles Morales as the web-head, but a slew of variants from across the multiverse.

This will be a pretty interesting Fall for Marvel fans. The Marvel Cinematic Universe will spawn one new movie, ‘The Marvels’, and the second season of the ‘Loki’ Disney+ series. Being one of the most popular superheroes and fictional characters ever created, it’s no wonder that Spider-Man was adapted numerous times into all kinds of media. When Stan Lee and Jack Kirby created the character back in 1962, we aren’t sure if they were aware of what legend they created, and that legend has remained ubiquitous to this day.
Now, in 2023, we can say that we’ve read countless Spider-Man stories in the comics, watched eight live-action movies, two animated theatrical movies, and many animated series. Also, the Spider-Man fans had a chance to play countless video games on various platforms.
The first-ever video game based on Spider-Man was released back in 1982 for Atari 2600 and Odyssey 2 platforms. Since then, numerous video games featuring Spider-Man have been released, including three games based on Sam Raimi’s ‘Spider-Man’ movie trilogy and two games based on Marc Webb’s ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ duology.
