Allison R. Jones
- Intimacy Coordinator
- Choreographer
An LA native and New Yorker since 2004, Allison Jones (she/her) is thrilled to have found the path of Intimacy Coordination, which perfectly synthesizes over a decade of her experience as both a choreography/movement professional and an artistic nude model on camera. Allison has a BFA from the Conservatory of Dance at SUNY Purchase, where she studied choreography with the late renowned Kazuko Hirabayashi; appeared with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet for five years; has presented her choreography on stages as far as the Shanghai World Expo USA pavilion; and has worked with photographers all over the country, featured in art books and gallery exhibitions.
A deep thinker, active listener, compassionate facilitator and forthright communicator, Allison is ready to meet the needs of a wide variety of productions, reading the room and showing up accordingly. In her years as a full-time freelance model & dancer, she learned firsthand how vital it is to establish a consent-based workspace. When Allison shows up to a set, she is ready to throw her fullest weight behind performers as an advocate, while also making the whole team feel at ease with her laid-back communication style. As a member of the neurodivergent and invisible disability communities, Allison ensures access needs are met for all whom she works with. Having completed over 150 hours of intimacy training, with additional training from Mental Health First Aid USA, Race Forward, Transgender Training Institute and Hollaback, Allison received full Intimacy Coordinator certification from IDC Professionals - the leading organization training and certifying Intimacy Professionals - in July 2023, with the unique privileges of membership in IDC's first-ever certification cohort and one-on-one mentorship under Alicia Rodis, known internationally for pioneering the role of Intimacy Coordination.
