Azadi Amaan
- Composer
Hi there!
My goal as a film composer is to support you in bringing your story to life!
I believe that working to create music that fits your unique story is a collaborative process grounded in curiosity, clear communication and creativity.
I'm Azadi Amaan [they/them], a film composer that specializes in music that has a powerful, emotional impact on your audience. Embracing my East Indian heritage, my name means 'freedom without fear.' As a queer, trans, bi-racial musician, my music fuses Eastern & Western influences.
Born at 1 pound 11 ounces, I spent the first months of my life in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. I was on a respirator and when the doctors tried to take me off, my airway collapsed.
The doctors did a surgery & used one of my ribs to prop my airway open. The surgery worked & damaged my vocal cords & nerves in my tongue.
I learned to play the piano before I could speak and music continues to be a powerful voice for me today.
Beyond music, I have a small homestead farm (with goats and chickens!) & love propagating my growing collection of houseplants.
I'm excited to work with you on your upcoming project - please reach out via email to chat about next steps.
With Gratitude, Azadi Amaan [they/them]
