Born in Istanbul, Özcan Vardar is a film editor based in Hamburg, Berlin and Istanbul.
He studied Mathematics in Bogazici University in Istanbul and also finished the Film Program in the department of Western Languages and Literatures in the same university. Since 2008, he has been editing fiction films and documentaries. He is an alumnus from Berlinale Talent Campus (2011) and a graduate from Locarno Film Festival Summer School (2011) and InterDoc MasterClass Serbia (2014).
He edited Emin Alper's debut film, Beyond The Hill, which won many awards in international festivals including the Caligari Award in Berlinale 2012. Since 2013 he has been teaching Film Grammar and Film Editing courses as a part time instructor in Bogazici University.
