David Guetta and Bebe Rexha have collaborated on a buoyant new single, “One in a Million.” The anthemtic, club-ready tune sees Rexha marveling at the existence of a significant other.
“You’re my one one one in a million/ It’s like someone picked you outta the sky,” she sings over the soaring beat. “Maybe I met you for a reason/ And I can’t believe that we’re both alive at the same time.”

David Guetta is continuing his streak of giving new life to Edm songs of the Nineties. On Friday, the French DJ released “Baby Don’t Hurt Me,” a modern reimagining of Haddaway’s “What Is Love” featuring vocals from Anne-Marie and a rap feature from Coi Leray. The new track was co-written by Ed Sheeran, who hinted at the collaboration with Guetta in an interview with Rolling Stone.

Two all new celebrities in disguise took to “The Masked Singer” stage for “90s Night” on Sunday, challenging Lambs for the throne and a spot in the semifinals. Despite his best efforts, Milkshake was eliminated following his rap performance of “Jump On It” by Sir Mix-a-Lot and belting out “What is Love” by Haddaway in the Battle Royale. The creamy delight was revealed to be NFL star Le’Veon Bell.
“I’m really trying to showcase my talents,” he told host Nick Cannon during his unmasked interview. “A lot of people know me from the football field. I just wanted to get in another lane and show people I’m talented at other things than just football.”
None of the panelists had any clue the professional athlete was Milkshake. Robin Thicke was the closest, going with another football player in DeSean Jackson. Jenny McCarthy thought it it was DJ Jazzy Jeff,...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched the Season 8, episode 6, of “The Masked Singer,” “’90s Night,” which aired Nov. 6 on Fox.
Whoa! It was very appropriate that 1990s heartthrob Joey Lawrence, of “Blossom,” “Gimme a Break” and “Nothin’ My Love Can’t Fix” fame, was revealed on the special Sunday “’90s Night” edition of Fox’s “The Masked Singer.” Lawrence and NFL runningback Le’Veon Bell were the latest double masking on the show.
Lawrence, as the Walrus, was the first to go, with the fewest number of votes. Later, Bell was unmasked as the Milkshake after facing off with incumber winners Lambs in a battle royale. The Lambs won for the second episode in a row, and move on to next week’s episode.
“’90s Night” opened with DC Glenn and Steve Rolln from Tag Team, performing their 1993 classic “Whoomp! (There It Is)” (as also seen...

“I’m not surprised,” says Gold Derby contributor Cordell Martin about the elimination of singer Jordin Sparks from “Dancing with the Stars” on “Halloween Night.” She landed in the bottom two with model Heidi D’Amelio, but in a split decision the judges opted to save D’Amelio and eliminate Sparks. I discussed the “Halloween Night” results – and previewed “90s Night” – with Martin and fellow Gold Derby contributor Jeffrey Kare. Watch our slugfest above.
SEE98 of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ fans disagree with Jordin Sparks’s elimination, and we all know who should’ve gone instead
Martin was “a little disappointed” by Sparks’s ouster “because Heidi, that was her second appearance in the bottom two. So more than likely she’s going to show up again in the near future, if not next week. I felt that Jordin was one of those contestants that we saw her improvement week after week.

“Dancing with the Stars” is reminding us all that we’re very old by turning back the clock for ’90s Night on Monday, but the more important number is two because there will be a double elimination.
The final eight will perform twice — an individual routine and a relay dance — to classic ’90s jams. During the latter, they’ll be backed by live performances by Salt-n-Pepa, En Vogue, Vanilla Ice and Kid ‘N Play. Salt-n-Pepa and En Vogue will also perform “Whatta Man” during the show. And by the end of the night, two pairs will bid adieu, advancing the final six to the semifinals on Nov. 14.
See the full lineup below:
Wayne Brady and Witney Carson: salsa (“Motownphilly” by Boyz II Men)
Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas: tango (“Song 2” by Blur)
Heidi D’Amelio and Artem Chigvintsev: contemporary (“Ironic” by Alanis Morissette)

‘A Piece of Sky’ Review: Things Fall Apart as a Choir Sings in an Impressive, Austere Alpine Tragedy
The hills are indeed alive with the sound of music in Swiss filmmaker Michael Koch’s intimate Alpine epic “A Piece of Sky,” but if you go in expecting twirling frolics, expect to be harshly disappointed. Acting as a kind of distinctly non-Greek chorus, a full Helvetian choir pops up between the acts of this small-scale domestic tragedy, their solemn folk songs lending a mournful running commentary to this story of a mountain family undone by medical misfortune and psychological upheaval. It’s a quasi-absurdist flourish in an otherwise austere slab of rural realism — cast with non-professional locals — and emblematic of the arresting formal grandeur that Koch brings to ostensibly modest material.
That combination of downbeat storytelling and rigorously mannered styling makes “A Piece of Sky” a challenging proposition for arthouse distributors, though a special mention from this year’s Berlinale Competition jury is indicative of the rarefied but rapt following it ought to find.

With both title and central buddy dynamic tipping hat to “Superbad,” among other raunchy teen comedies, “Supercool” is not the kind of movie that wins prizes for originality. Nor is Finnish director Teppo Airaksinen’s first U.S.-shot, English-language project as outrageous as it thinks it is. Nonetheless, this energetic spin through high school antics redolent of everything since “Ferris Bueller” is colorful and amusing enough to entertain viewers looking for a familiar mix of bad-taste gags in a squeaky-clean suburban setting. Vertical Entertainment is releasing it to 20 U.S. theater screens as well as on-demand platforms Feb. 11.

During the past year, the virtual jam — wherein a group of artists each claim their own corner of a 16:9 YouTube screen to rock out in isolation, together — has become as ubiquitous as Zoom conference calls, online schooling, and any other pandemic-era activity. Pearl Jam did it for Covid relief. The Rolling Stones did it for Global Citizen. Metallica did it very quietly. But few virtual jams have been as relentlessly creative and consistently surprising — not to mention flat-out awesome — as the ones featured in metal-themed talk show Two Minutes...

Close-Up is a feature that spotlights films now playing on Mubi. Ariane Labed's Olla, which is receiving an exclusive global online premiere on Mubi, is showing from June 1 - July 1, 2020 in Mubi's Brief Encounters series. The number of actors who express interest in directing is probably highly disproportionate to the number of them that actually do. The actress Ariane Labed however has stepped behind the camera, all while her on-screen career motors on. You might describe Labed the actress as an old soul. Her face has embalmed a sort of sage-like wariness, ever since she debuted in Athina Tsangari’s Attenberg as a stunted young woman metaphorically cracking out of her shell with a literal idiosyncratic skip-step. Though she’s played in numerous parts since then, she’s perhaps most recognized for her roles in the films of Yorgos Lanthimos. When any creative individual is up to new work,...

Chris Kattan joined old “SNL” buddy Jimmy Fallon on Thursday’s “Tonight Show,” where the “Corky Romano” star shared origin stories for some of his most famous “Saturday Night Live” characters.
“Mr. Peepers was based on a bad improvisation at The Groundlings, where I was asked to enter stage and … I just ran out and jumped on this guy Roy Jenkins, and hung upside-down on him,” Kattan said. “And that’s how it was born.”
That’s about as deep as that monkey character goes.

I’m just taking a guess here, but you’d have to think that Haddaway must have been completely outraged when Saturday Night Live made a mockery of his song with their Night at the Roxbury duo. And then of course the song was later used in the movie and now it’s pretty much the theme song for making a mockery of just about anything. However, I’ll also venture to take a guess that to this day he must have be pretty thankful considering that was his only hit and that’d he’d be making money off of it for the rest of
